Don't have a picture, but I wanted to tell ya'll about Ole' Coalie...

Coalie protected my Pop's fiddling buddy, Troy and his wife Vestie. (Coalie, as in "black as coal"). Coalie was an outside dog, only allowed in the house, when there was a music party. Whenever the fiddler got around to playing "Mississippi Sawyer", my Momma would (could not help herself) get up and dance. Lift her dress up above her knees, and show some pretty fancy footwork, too ! When she did that, Coalie would lay down and "pray"... stick his front legs out, bend his elbows and put his feet together.

Coalie understood English, too. Couldn't speak it, but he knew what you were saying. Troy told him one time, that the garden was his territory, and he had to protect it. So, when Vestie picked the cucumbers or tomatoes and put 'em in a bucket, she would put 'em on the back porch, before washing them. Old Coalie would steal the veggies, and take 'em BACK to the garden, and put 'em back underneath the vines.

Whenever they left the house together, Troy had to 'splain to Coalie where they were going, and when they'd be home. Otherwise, Coalie would track 'em down. If Troy walked out the door, Coalie was by his side, always.

Troy's son, Roy, lived next door (actually on Troy's land)... he found Coalie dead on the porch, the day after they took Troy to the nursing home. We all figgered that Coalie knew.

Doncha wish we could have one of his pups ?

If we could take the best of each of these little critters we would have one heckof a dog, here is one for ya Toe Cutter, this one showed up on the front porch a few months ago and he had a tag on, no name just vets # so we called the vet and they got ahold of the folks that owned him, they said that they had given the dog away a couple of weeks ago and did not want the dog but they did give us the name of the folks they had given the dog to...
When we called these people we had the dog for three days now and their statement was that (they did not know that the dog was gone), they had shut him in their garage, this was dureing 0 degree weather so we decided not to tell the people to come get him.
He was in pretty bad shape, very matted hair, toe nails left uncut, and when we took him to our Vet they put him on antibiotics imeadeatly and pulled 32 of 37 teeth.
His name is Pepe' Le Phew.

Here is a pic or two of Brutus Bear and Baby Bear had them both for about 11 years now, I need to throw in a pic of Sugar Bear, She is the Queen and noone plays with anything unless she allows it and you are breathing her air and if you dont believe it just ask her, this is her house and we are all just allowed to use it.
Ringmaster picture that little dog of yours dragging the ground and you can not realy piture the one my aunt has, I swear that she can roll over and it is one smooth move you can not tell when she leaves her lags and when she gets back on them.LOL

I really did not mean to run everyone off of this feed, I have some advice for Mossdancer, Hey Man if that little Beagle is your first one you probably allready know that if his nose is on the ground then he does not hear anything you are saying, like (COME HERE NOW) HAHAHAH
please dont get mad at him cause that is just the breed, put him on a leash if you are in a hurry.

Rayban that sure is a beautiful critter you have there, since I broke my hip and messed up my back last summer I have had to get rid of two quarter horses that I have had for about six years one was a dapple gray mare named Shiloh, about 15 hands high with a mane and tail that drag the ground, the other one was a chestnut mare, Miss Lucky, just a little shorter with a solid white star strip snip blaze on her face, both of them were rescued from an idiot that let them sit in a small paddock they were just short of crippled because of their hoves when I told him he was going to sell them to me, I used a razor sharp 12degree edge on a Rambo III Bowie second generation, to bad it is not the first gen, hahaha to help him make up his mind, I gave him more than a fair price of 1200 apeice for them.
Green Broke I dont think anyone can disagree with that, I gave them to a very nice family cause you cant sell your best friends.
About fifteen years ago I said I would never have another horse after my second wife stole 4 Arabians, 2 of those were pregnate all registered, I had them longer than I did the second wife.
I was pretty tore up after that divorice I became a hermit for about 5 years living on nothing but bourbon and cigeretts.
A week before she filed, a banker got my Grandad to sign over power of attorney, my Grandad was in the early stages of altshimers(spelling) and did not realy know what he was signing and my Grandmother had a couple of strokes over a couple of years and my Grandad held power of attorney for her so now this banker had what he thought was control over the family farm so he had SRS pack up my Grandparents and put them in an old folks home and signed papers to keep me from seeing them (that way I could not try to get them to sign papers to cut the power of attorney for the banker, by the way his name was Frank Carson Sr. of Mulvane Ks.)
The ole lady said she could not handle the hassle so in two weeks time I had lost my wife two kids and my Grandparents and 4 Arabians that had come straight from arabia on a big ship.
I am sure that you guys have listen to just about all you are going to and some dropped out a long time ago hahahah I have written more in the last few days than I have all year long.
Enjoy The Day

this also works if you have tailgaters while out on your scooter, I happen to have a Case XX 200th Aniversary Jim Bowie that rides between my shock and frame right at wrist level so if you drop your hand it is right there, some thing about the light shinnin off of them that makes people REFLECT on what they are thinking hahahaha
