I do have green bone knives with traces of green, especially along the edges. So, if my conclusion is right, a green bone knife must have some green showing somewhere even if only a little.

QS, my opinion is when this knives were made 60 to 80 years ago the dye was a Dark Green and over the years they have faded to the colors they are now ::shrug::

Thank you Larry. That adds grist to the mill. I wonder if there are supplies of the old green bone that is being used on more contemporary knives. ::hmm::

...but since I'm not a collector of Case... how about we change it up with some later Schrades?... ::woot::

A green bone stockman made by Schrade in 1978 for Parker−Frost with a Bison etch on main blade...
and a peanut in "Green Mt." bone etched for the Ellenveille−Warwarsing July 4th celebration in 2004.
(The last year of Schrade's operation before closing & was their 100th year anniversary to boot). ::teary_eyes::
