John Primble 4942 Blade with Boker Tree Shield

I have been playing around with some old John Primble knives because I carried them as a kid. I recently bought this one because I like big bladed knives. It has a Boker Tree Shield. Was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about this knife. It appears to be the 1940-1968 period I'm guessing because the tang has the 3 lines John Primble, Belknap, HDW & MFG Co. Blade also has 4942 with a star underneath. Knife is 4 3/8" long. Thanks.

I would say Boker USA, not German. English jack with Washington bolsters. That bone (nice!) suggests pre-1940 to me but I don't have any real evidence for that. My Boker knowledge is pretty weak, although their tang-stamps can be frustrating. A pic of the blades would be nice.

Thanks for the response. Its a really nice heavy well made knife. Not much on the blades, typical Primble markings. My 87 year old Dad still claims old Primble's hold their edge with the best of them and much better than today's knives. I gave him an Old Stockman last year and he is still raving about it sharpness after having 20 years of kids and grandkids giving him fancy new stainless steel Cases ,Bucks, etc.
