Anyone have a guess as to what this tag may have been used for? :)
1 1/2 by 3/4 in big

i have a couple of metal tags..similar..they were inserted into a credit card machine...so both the customer and company were on the reciept.
yours is different, the metal tags i have are tin.

maybe it was attached to a display cabinet. the company was pre credit card.

i have been going around with another antique dealer on this subject..and he said they also were pre-credit card...notice the back of the plate...stockton credit plate???? antique dealers argue alot.
the copper colored tag may be a display case tag...

Just the opposite from the front. My book says they were around from 1863-1932.
