Thanks again SSK.

Do you collect canoes exclusively? The canoe is my favorite pattern and it's mostly what I collect but I have other knives as well.

No, canoes are actually under represented in my collection. But by under represented that means I probably have 10 -15 various canoes. I collect a wide variety of knives. I started a thread on Moki, Mcusta and Al Mar. Take a look at that thread and you will see what I really like to collect. But I have a lot of Case, WInchester, Queen, Viper, Kershaw and others. Various patterns. Canoes are one of my favorite. My real all time favorite is a Sowbelly, esp a Cutting Horse pattern.

Here is a Robeson canoe that I bought just this year. Too good of a price to pass up.
Taking time to photograph the knives that I already have is keeping me from buying more, this is good therapy for a Knifeaholic.

You guys are showing some nice ones here. ::tu::

SSK, that Robeson really appeals to me. Not sure if that is cut bone or stag but those scales are very attractive.

I have that difficulty too. Will have to get the box out to find out. It feels like jigged bone, but it might be stag. Either way, they did it right.

I believe that handle material is what Queen called "stag carved bone" similar to Case's 6.5 bone stag.

NICE QS!!! The Patriot Kirinite, the colors that don't run. ::clapping:: ::tu::

Believe it or not, I still haven't gotten around to adding one of those to the collection. Every time I get ready to pull the trigger an oldie or limited edition pops up and distracts me! ::rotflol::

I've got a couple of newbies enroute I'll post pics when they arrive.

In the meantime here's a little canoe that I don't remember posting before. It tends to get neglected....

Here is one that deserves to be neglected. The handle is horn of some kind. Wouldn't be surprised if it were from a goat.

Made in China I'll bet. The quality of the knives made in China varies widely. I've got some that are good users with acceptable fit and finish and I have others that are doing duty as tent stakes.....'cause they ain't good for nothin' else. I remember when the Japanese products first started slamming the market. I was one of those who figured that they would never be worth anything and now some of those Japanese knives are highly collectable. In more recent times we're seeing high quality knives out of Japan. Which direction will China go? ::shrug::

You would win that bet Squatch. A bit high priced at $9.00. :)

There are already some very good to excellent quality knives coming from China. I'm thinking primarily of AG Russell. But he is meticulous on quality control. If a shipment arrives that is just slightly out of his specs, the whole lot gets sent back. The Chinese are quite capable of turning out even superb cutlery on a selective basis if the price is right and the buyer is insistent. In terms of mass production, the best of them turn out a very serviceable knife, like Rough Rider; but most of the mass production is still second rate. IMO.

Here's one of those Chinese made knives that is well made and the quality of the materials seems pretty good too.

Never expected to see names like Buck, Marbles, Kissing Cranes, etc. on Chinese knives. Go figure.... ::shrug::

Thanks QS.

The scales are "Washed Green" bone, laser etched on the front and plain on the back side.
