Floyd, your photos make that one look a lot nicer than I remember it being when I sent it. Even though it's only 5 yrs. old I think it had tarnish on it dating from the Eisenhower administration! Welcome to the Mini Trapper Tribe.

Re: BOMBS AWAY!!! THE UN-OFFICIAL OFFICIAL BOMB THREAD
I can only surmise that the mad bomber who dropped this First Production Run stick of stag dynamite on me recently must've struck the mother-lode deep inside the Coleman Shaft he's been mining somewhere in the vicinity of ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS. He not only dug up a stunning Sapphire Blue Mini Trapper (which he wisely kept for himself--you can check it out over in the Ode To The 07 thread), but he also unearthed this sweet Stag Mini T which he generously gifted to me knowing of my proclivity for both Stag and Mini Trappers.
I have no idea how he knew this about me
...but, somehow he figured it out...
...Apparently, somebody's actually been paying more attention than I realized
!!
Anyway...it's a beautiful, well-made knife (Seki, Japan) that satisfies yet another aspect of my personality that even he may not have been aware of when he sent it to me, for which my OCD thanks him repetitively over and over (you can see why over in the Matching Pairs thread).
Cheers & Aloha,

I purchased a Coca Cola knife from Scott (triplef) and when I opened the package I found the knife I purchased which is sweet by itself and then BOMB!
Scott sent me this awesome paracord that I really like a lot and this insane little Syderco folder, I freekin love it and its going on my keychain as soon as I get off the compuer. Scott I really apreciate the bomb my friend they are really cool and made my day! ::superhappy::
Gino bombed me a few weeks ago with these two beauties. Both are Sowbelly’s, my favorite pattern. This smooth bone one is gorgeous. Both were a happy surprise when I opened a box from him for the knives I did purchase. Thank you again Gino!

Re: BOMBS AWAY!!! THE UN-OFFICIAL OFFICIAL BOMB THREAD
KJ, Roland Proctor bombed me twice in the past month or so. The first was a San Ren Mu tactical. Which I have used and must say is an incredible knife. The second one blew me away, it’s German made salesman sample, that Roland says is from around the turn of the 1900’s. A beauty made of pearl and in terrific condition w/ two blades, a file, scissors and a corkscrew.
I don’t deserve either and am choked up over his generousity. Thank you so much!

Re: BOMBS AWAY!!! THE UN-OFFICIAL OFFICIAL BOMB THREAD
Here is a pretty nice throw in I recently received from one of my favorite friends and a heck of a gentleman here on AAPK. It's a ten dot 1970 bone canoe that he sent in the package with another knife that I had bought from him. It'll make a great user and will complement my stag canoe EDC. He is also one of the gentlemen that I can thank for having so many fine Cases in my collection. My good friend Jerry Hawkins(AKA) Ralph Alsip. Thanks again Jerry!

My friend “woodwalker” blew me away today. I received a long package in the mail today. Had no idea what was in the package. When I opened the “bomb” I was totally floored. What a kind gracious gift that he & his dear wife sent me. It will be showed with honor and discussed in length. Wow what a super KA-BAR. Check it out fellas.

Re: BOMBS AWAY!!! THE UN-OFFICIAL OFFICIAL BOMB THREAD
We've all heard the phrase, "Don't judge a book by its cover." Well, a couple of weeks ago jerryd told me about this South African made OKAPI Biltong. I took a look at it but wasn't impressed...just didn't like the "stirrup" back strap design. But, as everyone knows, looking at a photo of a knife is much different than actually holding the knife in your hand and experiencing it in person. So, the good ol' boy from Illinois sent me this knife so that I could do just that...experience it in person. And, although I honestly can't say it changed my mind about the design aesthetics, holding it in hand and examining it in person did cause me to appreciate it for other reasons.
Being a minimalist at heart, I was impressed by the sheer simplicity of the knife. It consists of a grand total of five (5) parts, two of which are pins. The other thing that impressed me about this knife (that I could not have gotten from looking at a photo of it) is the incredible snap of the blade when it's closed. Man, talk about "Talk", this baby snaps shut like a bear trap. And, it's all related to the stirrup back-strap design...the one element I initially dismissed it for because I found it aesthetically unattractive.
So, not only did I get bombed with a cool little knife that I never would have bought for myself, I learned a lesson about being too quick to judge based on appearance alone and to consider other aspects of a knife before deciding if I liked it or not. I like this OKAPI, but I never would have known I liked it unless I was literally bombed with it by a much wiser man than I.
Thanks, jerryd...you never cease to surprise and amaze me with your generosity and wisdom.

Re: BOMBS AWAY!!! THE UN-OFFICIAL OFFICIAL BOMB THREAD
I wasn't a fan of those either, Q, but picked one up at a flea market this summer, and like you, I changed my opinion on the knife. I won't be batoning and logs with mine anytime soon, but its' simple construction is interesting, and as a lover of all things cutlery, it checks most of the boxes for me. Good going Jerry!
