Re: Lets show some Old and Rare ones.
I'm thinking this early John Primble India Steel Works is pretty hard to find, 4 1/2" English Jack with worn smooth stag and pitting on the metal, still has good snap and no play on the worn blades. I think it dates from the late 1800's with what research I have been able to do and was probably made in Sheffield.

Re: Lets show some Old and Rare ones.
Thanks for everyone's comments on the Primble, much appreciated.
Ivoryman, couple of great jacks there, the EK Tryon is not easy to find in good condition, I have a nice Barlow and a AH Fox shotgun that was originally sold by them, they were a high end sporting goods store in Philly, if I remember right they started in the late 1800's and went out of buisiness in the 1950's.

There was an E. K. Tryon catalog that sold for a high price on Ebay a couple of years ago.

Re: Lets show some Old and Rare ones.
This big Joseph Rodgers knife is located in Pakistan. I suspect a lot of old Sheffield cutleries knives were taken to that area over the time the British were there.
How this one survived in this condition, I have to wonder.
The bone handles are "scratted", a technique that I thought indicated an earlier knife and has been discussed on AAPK in the past. However, given the tang stamp, the knife probably dates after 1890.
This is a beautiful old knife.
It's listed on Ebay for $1500.00.

A very similar one just sold on eBay for $800 not long ago on Aug 9 (think it was Bill Clasussen's auction if I am not mistaken) - I was not the buyer - just a "watcher" when it got abit high for meRobesonsRme.com wrote:This big Joseph Rodgers knife is located in Pakistan. It's nice, but it isn't mine. It's an Ebay auction knife with an asking price of $1500.00.
