Thanks doglegg and Steve.

To be fair I do have another of the same gec that is stored away in new condition, and two older versions of the schrade that are near mint. I bought the gec used for an incredibly good price, which is the only reason I have two of the exact same version.

This thread inspires me to buy two of every knife. One for the pocket, and one for the safe.

You should deposit the knife, take the cash, and go buy another knife. Problem solved.

Sweet knife gino, congrats. Wow, very nice. What makes that the perfect? Have you carried that pattern before or this your first? I have one and like it but found I wish the main was a bit longer a couple times. Good show and nice score.

Gino, that 62 is a "mother for ya" as my buddies used to say, a real looker and quite the blade combo! Excellent find, but don't let it send that Viper to the bench. There's room for both in your pockets! ::nod::

David, I'm a big fan of '70s Case Barlows. Is that a 6-dot? I've got a similar Delrin model in my totin' box that needs a little clean-up and an edge, then it's getting added to the rotation. ::tu:: I'll bet yours snaps like a bear trap too.

It's probably my favorite cow knife, Phil, even with the chipped Rogers bone on the mark side. It happened long enough ago that the chipped part of the bone itself has taken on a pocket-worn character which doesn't really detract at all from the knife. I have no idea what the "H" stamps on the bolsters mean, or how they got there - it's been suggested that they stand for "HOK". Here it is open from a couple years ago - the only difference is a little more patina on the main blade these days:

Tony, I've always like the Cattleman's Knife - that is certainly a nice vintage model by Imperial.

GIno, nice Half Congress, GEC really does it right when it comes to old patterns - In my minds eye I can see an old gent sitting in a wood slat chair at the country store cutting a chaw with that big blade!

Been cleaning up my yard from the hurricane all week. Finally got to work doing some wiring and drywall work yesterday and gave my 3318 a workout. Today's carry will be a penknife - taking the day off from working, and driving to Raleigh shortly with two other longtime "has-been" buddies for a 30th CSG reunion. OH
