Thank you doglegg. I couldn't pass them up. First time I've seen burl on a pocket knife.

Looks better in hand. My pictures didn't do a good job of capturing the colors.

Good golly Jerry.... That knife has to be a true killer in person. Your pics are so much better than the sellers pics you posted.jerryd6818 wrote:Looks better in hand. My pictures didn't do a good job of capturing the colors.

Thanks Mike but I think black may have been a better choice for the background. I may give it a try once it becomes full light here. The knife may not be for everyone but to me, it's a stunner.Meridian_Mike wrote:Good golly Jerry.... That knife has to be a true killer in person. My latest E-bay score is a near duplicate of my first knife, as close as I can remember 50 years later. I paid $1.49 for the original at the Katz drug store. They thought nothing of selling a knife to a little kid back then.

I like that. Beautiful. Hard to believe the prices have changed that much. It does show that knife prices do somewhat follow inflation.Bastler wrote:My latest E-bay score is a near duplicate of my first knife, as close as I can remember 50 years later. I’m surprised it was under 11 dollars. That looks like a knife worth a lot more than that.

I paid $10 delivered. But when I bought the original, $1.49 was a lot of dough.

Big day at the mail box. First is a Case Canoe with dark red bone and worked bolsters.
Second, is an impressive Bulldog Whittler with horn scales and a wharncliff main blade. Besides the excellent build quality I like the fact that Bulldog includes a coping blade on their whittlers. Made sometime around 2000.

Continuing on. Next is a Case Copperlock with Red Sycamore Scales.
Followed by a 1st generation 1983 Bulldog Lumberjack having some very nice stag.

Jerry my entire knife program for retirement has been blown up. I was determined to only buy one or two low cost knives a month. Instead... I need help.

Sweet Bulldogs Quick Steel, I'm green with envy.
Unique horn and great blades on that whittler and if that weren't enough the stag handles, diamond shield and blade pattern on the Lumberjack really make for an outstanding combo.

QS the rescue squad just left, my wife had to call them after she found me almost comatose after looking at your new pickups. I just looked again and am still feeling lite headed. There should be a warning before post like that. Wow!!!

Today's mail brought a (SURPRISE) 2018 Case Mini-Trapper with barn board handles, torched I think. I wanted it for the shield. I suppose it's supposed to be a rendition of the flag but it looks like a belt buckle to me.

Interesting knife Jerry. Looks like the blades have maybe a satin finish or.....something. About the most unique shield I've seen. I like the scales very much.
