I too like double ended jacks Lloyd ,and you knives are great , especially the moose. I suppose these belong in this thread. Top one is Schrade. Second is around 1890s Empire. The differences in frames are subtle, but most apparent in the small bolster. This is one way ;"sometimes" ; to distinguish the manufacturers of Hdwe. farmers jacks.

Hi all! I am originally from St. Louis MO and sadly, have only just discovered Shapeleighs, keen kutter etc. But now that I've discovered them, im in Love! I picked up this gem on the Bay for $30. I like the knives that are stamped "St. Louis" especially. This one really caught my eye and the price was right so I popped for it! I have been researching this knife and can't come up with any specifics... model #, date range etc. I know it's pre 1960... obviously haha! One factor I thought might help is the punch blade. It's unique design and the fact it is stamped "spiral punch" seemed unique. The last puc shows the mark, but is all but unreadable. It says "Spiral punch" diagonally and in a cursive font. Now, I can find mention of spiral punches online, but I've yet to even see another knife marked this way. Any info is much appreciated, my research skills are running low. I'll post some more of my recent finds, when I have some time. Also, this knife will be in my AAPK shop once I get the lowdown on it! Thanks in advance for any info!

Cool knife John ... I have the boys knife in catalog cut which I posted before but never knew they made larger versions of the same design for other purposes.. Most likely made by Schrade who had the folded liner patent ...

I should have mentioned in the post the knife has a quirk - the pattern number on the pile side is 974 but 2 bladed Shapleighs always start with a 'B'. Somehow this one ended up with the wrong stamp on it. ...Typical Schrade.

Here's a few more that are among my favorites. I began collecting Shapleigh as an extension of my Schrade addiction and my favorite pattern has always been the Washington jack so this group of knives here really check all the boxes for me.

I dug through my Keen Kutters and found 3 that qualify- a Cattleman and Serpentine & Barehead jacks. Similar bone color but different jigging on all 3. Nice etched blade on the Serpentine.

3.5" - the black ones are 2202-3/4 and the toilet seat covers is a 2204. Shapleigh calls them B376 and I think B375. It's the same Schrade pattern that was reborn as the 2OT a couple decades later.
