But is there a rule allowing bananas? And if we don't have a mini trapper can we post a banana instead? Is it multiple pics of mini trappers that is ok as long as there is only a single pic of a banana. And the word banana, as I type it, it makes my fingers feel as if they are stuttering. Can you post a pic of the pile side of the banana? Also with it open? Darn you, I don't even have a mini trapper and still you sucked me in. Also can some one give me an idea as to the year the banana was made? And not that I want to sell it but any idea of the value? ::dang::

You bring up an interesting point, Floyd...as a rule, most rules are restrictive in nature, not permissive. In other words, rules tend to be more about what we can't or shouldn't do rather than what we must or should do.

But it's obvious to me that your problem here really has nothing to do with rules. Your problem is that you don't have a Mini Trapper. We'll need to do something about that ASAP.

You guys crack me up and make me wish I had some bananas in the kitchen. I have discovered that they last longer if you store them in the refrigerator.

Still in 'monkey see, monkey do' mode. It's a struggle over which banana to post today but my first banana and first 07 finally won out.

Okay Biggie 'H', here's a question for you (or anyone else who wishes to participate). Banana Pudding. Is it made with Vanilla Wafers OR Graham Cracker crumbs?

Jerry in my world it's vanilla wafers and made from scratch, no store bought puddings used. Now that said, I'll eat any and I've had it with Graham cracker crumbs and it's passible, also I'll eat it cold and enjoy it, but it should be eaten hot .Imho.ymmv. ::handshake::

I asked because when I was a kid, it would always be on the table at an all day singin' with dinner in the yard. It was room temp of course but it was made from scratch and always made with graham cracker crumbs. I never saw it with vanilla wafers until I had lived up here for several years and discovered thats how they made it in these parts. I haven't had any "real" down home banana pudding (nanner pudding) in a bunch of years.

I grew up (?) eating it with nellar wafers and graham crackers came later. Did you know that graham crackers were first marketed as a health food? ::shrug::

Y'all can keep the pudding and just hand me the box of 'niller wafers . ::tounge::
Don't reckon I've ever seen the stuff with graham crackers here in Dixie.

Sorry, but I have no trappers of any variety to share . . . .

Bonus Points will be awarded if the knife you post also correctly fits the theme--in the proper order (hint, hint  ).

Gentlemen, it has occurred to me that I have been remiss regarding one of my own contest rules: the awarding of Bonus Points (see above quote from DAY 8--the first day of the Mini Trapper Mystery Theme Contest).

A quick review of the Mini Trappers that have been posted thus far that meet the criteria reveals that jerryd has two (2) BPs and jmh58 has one (1) BP since they each posted photos of Mini Trappers that fit the theme in the proper order. Perhaps this is evidence that they have solved the mystery theme, or perhaps it only proves they were playing "monkey see, monkey do" in order to win Bonus Points. Regardless of how they were acquired, whether accidentally by imitation or by design through calculated cunning, each Bonus Point earned may be redeemed AT ANY TIME during the contest for ONE EXTRA GUESS at identifying the mystery theme and a shot at winning the Mini Trapper Theme Trophy.

Of course, the contest remains open to all who wish to participate until the mystery theme has been correctly identified--contestants are not required to post a Mini Trapper photo to participate...but it is strongly encouraged as well as highly appreciated.

Since I was never good at waiting, I'm going to redeem one of my bonus points with a guess although I don't really think it's a guess.

Tomorrows knife will be green because ~Q~ has been following the primary colors on the color wheel. His OCD acting up again. See color wheel below and starting with red, note the color sequence of the knives he has posted..

Folks...WE HAVE A WINNER!!! ::ds:: ::groove::

Apparently, jerryd's "strategy" of playing 'monkey see, monkey do' has paid off. Never let it be doubted that flattery will get you everywhere, and imitation is, after all, the highest form of flattery!

Congratulations, jerryd...you have successfully solved this week's Mini Trapper Mystery Theme. ::tu:: (You may save your acceptance speech until after the award ceremony if you wish).

Thanks to everyone for playing along and humoring my OCD. Now, keep posting those Mini TrapPER DIEMs...now that you know the theme, I expect everyone will post a Green Mini T on Tuesday (better yet...TWO green Mini Ts, since it's "Two-for-Tuesday").

Congratulations to me. Dangnabbit I never figure these things out but thank goodness for ~Q~s OCD to logic and my career in the computer industry. Green is far from my favorite color except on grass and money but in spite of that, I just happen to have a couple of green Mini-Trappers for tomorrows post. A great big thank you to ~Q~ for all the fun.

I've been watchin' this thread and finally realized I could play! I dug through a box of used Case knives and found a few. :)
Allow me to modify the per diem idea, just once, and present a working week supply, like an 8-5, 5 days per week, weekly Mini Trapper shot.
I found a work week of Case Mini-Trappers

As Supreme Ruler and rule-maker of this thread, I am willing to suspend the "one-knife-per-day" rule for any latecomers to the party who want to play catch up. (That's one of the great things about being the Supreme Ruler, you get to manipulate the rules however you see fit!)

Thanks for posting that very interesting lineup of used Case 07s, treefarmer...I'm especially intrigued by the red one on the far right with what appears to be a hypodermic needle point blade...I can only imagine the history that one has had...indisputable proof that it has been carried and used quite a bit; surely a testament to the popularity of the Mini Trapper pattern as a working man's EDC if ever there were.

DAY 11

I never used to think twice about Tuesday before; but, suddenly I just love Tuesdays. Because the word "Tuesday" contains the number "2" in the pronunciation, it is generally considered a day in which things happen in pairs or groups of twos. Everyone just naturally accepts the maxim, Two-for-Tuesday, without question. It's strange how that's come about, since the word "Tuesday" actually originates from a reference to Mars, the ancient Germanic God of War (and who in their right mind would want two of those?). But for my purposes, Tuesdays are a day in which I feel it's entirely permissible, encouraged and even expected to set aside the "one-knife-per-day" rule with impunity and post TWO Mini TrapPER DIEMs, thus breaking one rule while at the same time following another rule.

So, let's march out those Mini Trappers two-by-two today on Two-for-Tuesday. (Green if you want to follow this week's theme, but any two will do.)

I should also point out that while the Bermuda Green Mini Trapper fits this week's theme of primary colors on the color wheel, the Lemon-Lime Mini Trapper is actually a secondary color...but, since it's in the proper sequence, my OCD seems to be OK with it.

That's the best of that Carhartt series. I may be wrong but I believe that's the "barn board jigging". I hope you don't mind. I massaged the picture a little so folks can appreciate the knife more.
