Anyone have info on this knife?

Post by Kase's Kutlery Plus »

Anyone seen one before? Anyone have info on this? The hook reads bristoline Germany and knife blade reads Solingen Germany. Does it have any value? Thanks!

Never seen one before. Interesting, I suppose that is a gaff hook built in. I would for sure want a loop around my wrist or I would loose the fish and the knife both. Of course most of my fish don't require a gaff hook. I bet someone here knows about it and has one. ::nod:: ::tu::

Welcome here Kase's Kutlery Plus.
Of course your knife has value but that depends on who wants it, including you.
It looks like it is clean and in good condition. It has the gaff, which is unique in fishing knives.

I have an Ulster that was made for J.C. Higgins.
The covers were shrinking so I had them replaced.

Got one marked,"Fishsaver" on the handle;no maker's name. Does your scaler blade say,"magnet" on the tip? Mine does and it is magnetic.Probably for picking up fish hooks.

Goins' reference book says Bristol Line (two words, not Bristoline) tang stamp dates from 1945 - 1960.
I would for sure want a loop around my wrist or I would loose the fish and the knife both.
Doglegg is right. Note that the Dox and the Fishsaver have lanyard holes.

I see Kase you've got it listed on eBay for $100. I think you are optimistic but when it comes to the crap shoot known as eBay, who knows. I have a Dox in superb condition and I paid around $40 for it.

I looked it doesn't say magnet on the scaler.

Hi Dennis! I did list it on eBay. I actually really like this knife. Its unique and different. Unfortunatley I've sold many knives I really like. I do think I may be a bit optimistic as well. I did check sold items and there were similar knives that sold around that much.
