philco wrote:Doug I'm starting to think you've got some sort of abalone fetish. You sure do seem to come up with some beautiful abalone knives. This one is certainly no exception. Also, I've never seen that blade etch before. Can you shed any light on it ?

Beautiful knife BTW. ::tu::
Phil, The first 5 generations of Bulldog Brand knives were made in Germany (1978-2008) and the 6th generation, Bulldog Brand USA, 2009-? were made in the USA by GEC and Queen. ( I only know of GEC making them in 2009 and 2010) The Queen knives all had the Federal Shield while the GEC's have the Bomb or Dog Bone Shield. Since 1992 the brand has been owned by Jim Parker. The Abalone is a 73 pattern GEC....BTW I'd hate to call it a fetish but I do have a fond spot for Abalone

Right on J1890, that's some stag, some age, some beauty. Great score.

Thanks! Can’t believe I scored this one. Got to use it yesterday at work. Wicked sharp blades with great snap. Going to be hard to stop carrying it. Of course I say that with every cool knife I get ::facepalm::

I was surprised to see these two get here so fast. Bottom one is a flipper and they just don't suit my fancy, so if anyone wants it, speak up now of forever hold your peace. I'd swap it for just about anything as long as it's not all mangled and banged up.
