Mappin & Webb Restoration
Here is an old Sheffield knife that I finally got around to restoring recently.
The handles are ivory and I was able to find a small piece of ivory to replace one of the handles but not enough to replace both handles.
These are the before pictures, I had already cut the pins when I remember to take some before pictures.
These are the after pictures.
The process was a bit tedious as the small, thin piece of ivory that I used to make the replacement handle with cost me about $35. So I was very cautious with the handle material; using new drills and new sanding belts to avoid overheating the ivory.
I thought the tang stamps were cool on this knife also; both sides of each blade was stamped:

It looks like the back handle got lightened up in color. How did you do that ?
I have quite a few old ivory pen knives, heavily used but good ivory. I might be able to send you a knife to help with your next ivory replacement job.
I assume existing pin holes can be used.

I'm not sure Kaleb, didn't True Value at one time use the Trustworthy label?
It may have been another company but I thought it was True Value Hardware that had use the Trustworthy label
Thanks guys, I appreciate the encouragement. I like this one enough I may use it for a Sunday carry.

If it's the same Trustworthy it has no association with True Value. Trustworthy along with Hardware Hank stores, Golden Rule Lumber Centers, and Ranch & Pet Supply stores is serviced by United Hardware Distributing Co., a dealer-owned corporation based in Plymouth, Minnesota.orvet wrote:I'm not sure Kaleb, didn't True Value at one time use the Trustworthy label?
