Didn't find any new knives today but I found something just as good on my way home. Stopped at a garage sale and lo and behold! A bunch of knife magazines and a baker's dozen of Knife World for $4.90. Plenty of good reading for awhile.

Thanks for posting that Ray. Been wondering what my pile of old back issues of Knife World are worth - looks like about $5 a dozen! Of course, that means I have at least $200 worth.

I went back to the hardware store today and picked up a few more NOS camillus knives. I got one of the 72's yesterday. I actually paid the prices that were on the boxes

This just came in. Terrier Cutlery, with "Made in USA" on the back side tang of main. I have no reason to think it's a fake, but don't know a whole lot about this brand. Regardless, it only ran me $8. Where's Charlie when you need him???

I'm not really familiar with Terrier Cutlery stamps but I doubt that one is a fake. Looks like a nice old knife! Good score!

Got this one at a yard sale today on my way home from a car show. Wasn't out but asked the woman if she had any pocket knives. She mentioned her husband(deceased)had one and went inside to get it. She wasn't sure where he got it as he was a career Navy man and had traveled all over the world.
When I told her the writing on the blade looked Spanish she mentioned he had been stationed in Spain for awhile.
The translation of the word(recuerdo)has several meanings(remember;souvenir,etc.)which leads me to believe it was made as a souvenir although the construction is a bit up from the usual souvenir pieces.In addition to the word and the scroll work there is an image of a swan,
The handles are some type of white composition with what looks like a piece of Baltic amber set into each one.The rear handles are fastened by steel pins with conical brass washers on each side.
The tang stamp looks almost French in origin with a number(10 or12;it's partially obliterated)and the letters (I L I)at 90 degrees to the number. With no nail mark it is hard to determine whether it is French of Spanish.
Whatever the case it looks to be pretty old and for $20 I think I got a good deal. Any info on the stamp would be gratly appreciated.
