Scott, the shirt is funny, I understand it but it's far from accurate! You seem to be a great influence on these little fellers far from a partner in crime. Just my thoughts, being too analytical, I suppose. ::hmm::
I really like the picture of the fawn! Tell us about it, did the boys get to see it?

The fawn was spotted by my grandsons (not shown in these pics) the day before.
Mom was there for a moment but left shortly after we stopped.

We had a visitor about 8pm . What I believe is a great horned owl. Sorry for the poor picture, phone camera, darkness and distance was all against me. ::facepalm::

That is certainly a Great Horned. I have always found them very communicative meaning just give out a few extended "Hoo,Hoo." They commonly respond. I once had a quite long "conversation" with one. I don't know what we were talking about but the owl seemed to find it as interesting as I did.

I learned to talk to owls from my turkey hunting older cousin. He was so old, I called him "Uncle Dalton".

I have had numerous conversations with our neighborhood owls.

We have two creeks on the ranch, both have owls living along them. Most common are the Great Horned Owl and the Barred Owl. Have also seen and heard Screech Owls. I'm guessing they don't compete as they're obviously tolerant of one another. Most evenings regardless what time of year you can sit on our porch and hear them calling back and forth, each breed has its distinctive call.

I sometimes try to enter the conversation but not sure what I'm saying. ::sotb:: The grandkids love it and try to imitate them. My 9 year old grand-daughter's attempts are hilarious, but I try not to laugh. One of the great joys of life!

Pretty cool Grest Horned Owl and we have a few in our woods - I think I showed this before - my buddy the Barred Owl in my backyard... I see them on occasion and the best is watching them fly through the forest - looks like an animated movie the way they can maneuver flying through the the trees without hitting anything ::nod:: At night we can hear them calling all the time and while I have tried to converse with them I don't think they understand my Hoots with an accent

Owls have a special meaning to me. I once had the privilege of being made an honorary (unofficial) member of the Chiricahua Apaches. My given name was Scouting Owl. Do I enjoy owl photos? You betcha.

Thanks Scott. It was also very humbling. Had smoke from burning sage directed all over me by means of an eagle feather.
