Rare Remington knife?

Hello,
I found this knife and tried to research but can't find anything like it. There are no shields or emblems on either side also no numbers. I think it was made in 20's. It looks like a R1063 to me. Not having a shield or a pattern isn't all that uncommon.

Thanks for the help with pic and info on shield. I thought it might be something interesting since I couldn't find a pic of a knife exactly like it online. I have many older knives most I can figure out what they are.

There is a thread somewhere that discusses this knife and the variation in the pattern. I tried to look it up but couldn't find it.

Keith, I believe you are spot on. I have one of each R1063, with bolsters and barehead. Picture of barehead in Sargent book and the bolster model in the Ritchie book. By the way, very nice advertising collection. Thank you, John

Just my 2 cents worth... one of the key points is in the tang stamping. This is a Script lined Remington stamp. Puts it in the 1935-1940 era. At that time inked on stamp patterns were used or no stamp patterns were used and by the wear and age of your knife it may have worn off if it ever had one.
Secondly it was considered a low end production knife and most with these particular tang stamps were produced by cutlery companies with authorized production by Remington. Also alot of these knives produced for Remington by other companies had no stamped pattern number because Remington’s intent of the pattern number was so the jobber could reorder stock from Remington to sell to his consumer. A lot of authorized production knives from contracted cutlery companies were of limited runs and could not be reordered hence no pattern number. JMHO...
