Hey Bryan;

" Maybe we need an Asian category too. s-k "

Maybe we could call it the rest of the world. What do you think?

Hmmm...

Thinking about how to do this...

Should I change the European knife category into "Non U.S. Knives" thus encompasing all regions in 1, or keep the European knife category and add a "Other foreign knives (Non US, Non European)" category.

I can't really do a seperate category for every region of the world... Can I? I'm confused just thinking about it... :?

I'd like to avoid a big clutter if possible.

My vote is to keep the European category and add just one more category for the rest of the world. The US and Europe cover most of what we discuss here and the rest of the world would be a nice addition for those rarities from elsewhere. That's my 2p worth. :) s-k

Hello;

My intention was the rest of the world in one category, to include fixed and folders.
Thanks W.B.

I would vote for an Asian and Other Countries. The reasoning behind a sole Asian category is China. Because of low labor costs and no environmental laws, the Chinese are going to play a major role in the knife manufacturing world in the near future. Knives can be made very cheaply there and the quality I saw 2 years ago was for the most part subpar. The quality is rising very quickly (still would not collect them) ::barf:: and there has been little or no response from American and German manufacturers. If these manufacturers continue to ignore the rising challenge, the USA is going to flooded with $15.00 knives that make real good carriers. Will Case outsource to China? Will Bulldog outsource to China? Remember Japan? These companies operate under a capitalist structure, they need to maximize profit, and due to labor costs, insurance, environmental laws it is expensive to operate in Europe and the USA. Unfortunately more cutlers will be looking at China :cry:. Because of China's imposing presence, I think we may have to have an Asian Category in the future, may as well start now. Money or Profit speak loudly. :x ::paranoid:: ::disgust::
