In spite of it's self and the seller here is a nice swell center, locking , swing guard, four line Camillus folder.
Beautiful intact bone with peened pins.
The seller said it was 4 3/4" long. It isn't. It's 4 5/8".
The seller sent it in a paper envelope inside a toilet paper tube and taped.
I don't like toilet paper tubes.

Thank you, Greg.
Thank you, Grant.
After looking I can see why you would ask the question.
That's just discolored bone I'm happy to report.

That is a sweet looking knife Joe....CONGRATS....
Glad it actually made it to your hands. I can just imagine the looks from the postal workers when they saw a toilet paper tube with a stamp on it come through the line..... Many head shakes I'm sure.

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Here is a very plain knife to follow the fancy old Swing Guard: 4 1/2" wood handled jack, clip blade stamped "Shapliegh's/St.Louis.U.S.A."
Would this have been sold as "Utility knife" or "Farmer's Knife" or ?? The pivot pin is different from what is usually seen.
Any idea of age or manufacturer ? Shapleigh is a brand i know nothing about except it eventually became "True Value", i think.
Thanks for help with this one. kj

Roland, I really like those honest old knives. Honest and served a purpose and most were used. Nice.

Thanks. I'd like to know if it is a real oldie and which manufacturer likely made it. Hope someone knows the Shapliegh knives.

Eustace, thank you for posting the Shapleigh history information. I hope someone can give approximate date for my knife and comment on the type of pivot pin.
