Anyone heard of Redge?

Post by zorrothegreyblade »

Turned up the silver one a while back, forgot about it till the other one arrived the other day. Even s-k cannot find any info on the maker! ::paranoid:: Saw a new knife advertised as Pakistan Solingen, looked like solingen made blades assembled in Pakistan, these are obviously older but I wondered if they might be post war German assembled using Sheffield blades to try to overcome predudice against German goods shortly after the end of the war? ::shrug:: It's a long shot, but there is no record of a Sheffield maker using the name REDGE. :x Thanks for looking ::tu::

That's a new one to me, and to Goins. You may have to ask Bernard Levine about this one.

it could be a wholesaler or retail stamp, not made by redge.

Yeah, posted them on Bladeforums, BRL hasn't got any info on REDGE but he reckons it could be a wholesaler who was shipping out to the british empire colonies betwween the wars. Going to try to find british company records for that era, might get lucky ::shrug:: good call johnie ::tu::
