GENCO Geneva NY Pocket Knife??

Post by knifeaholic »

I have heard of Genco as a razor company but this is the first Genco stamped pocket knife that I have ever seen. Does anyone else have one of this brand? To me the manufacturer could be Cattaraugus or Robeson, at least based on the bone. I would lean more toward Cattaraugus.

Steve,

That is the first one I have seen as well. Most of their production was razors, but according to Goins they manufactured their own pocket knives. They went out of business in 1935 and sold their razor division to W.R. Case & son`s.

Wow, I was very happy to see this thread. I have a Genco also, pictures attached, but there is no number in the banner below the word GENCO. Same mark on the back tang also. It is 4 1/2" closed and a lockback. I have always thought that the knife was made by Cattaraugus or Robeson.

Here is some more info on Genco. Note the WR Case affiliation.
