Need info on Camillus camp knife
Hi Guys,
What can you tell me about this Camillus?
Stag handles. Brass liners. Made circa 1946-56 ( 3 line tang stamp, Camillus not underlined)
What model is it and what do you think the value is?
Thanks.......Bruno

Well obviously rehandled so the cost of the stag handles plus $20 for a good user. No collector value.i think that was pattern #99 scout/utility.

Right you are. I would just sharpen it up and put it in my pocket as a user.gsmith7158 wrote:Well obviously rehandled so the cost of the stag handles plus $20 for a good user. No collector value.i think that was pattern #99 scout/utility.

Thanks for the replies. I don't own this knife. It came in to our store and was purchased with other items. I've never seen a Camillus 99 with stag handles so I though it might have been a special run. Whoever did the re-handle did a great job.

Tommy, that tang stamp is right as rain. It just looks "off" to you because it's one of the "seldom seen" tang stamps.carrmillus wrote:....tang stamp doesn't look right, either???..............

Re: Need info on Camillus camp knife
I could be way off base here but it seems to me the only ones I have seen with that stamp were either scout/utility or the two blade jack utility.jerryd6818 wrote:I have a re-handled, shined up Camillus 99 Camp knife with that stamp.

Re: Need info on Camillus camp knife
Here's the before pictures. Camillus called it a "Camp Knife". It's pre-'57 because it had those black shriky dink handles.

Is that the same stamp as the 1946-56 shown here?
