It does feel good in the hand and the antique bone on this one seems to have a "glow" or as you put it, a warmth. It's one of those knives that just begs to be carried and may end up in my EDC rotation. My Ol' Yeller Delrin Case CV canoe is my favorite EDC canoe but this one has potential! ::super_happy::

It's an annual event held by Case and their parent company Zippo. I've never been to one but the special edition knives are limited in number, usually 500, and very collectable.

The material is called Kirinite and the color mix is called Green Smoke. Case has used it on quite a few knives. It's modern substitute for celluloid that won't off-gas and ruin the knife. Corelon is another similar material.

Charlie....nice lookin' Canoe.
A question. Do you have any Canoes in your collection with a main clip blade instead of a spear? You don't see many and I know if anyone has one, it's probably you.

Surprisingly I do not, Bruno. I need to remedy that situation! The only ones I've seen were made by Queen under the Schatt & Morgan badge. I believe they made one and two blade versions. Philco posted a picture of one back on page 29 of this thread.

I got another canoe last week. This one is a 1994 that wasn't taken care of. I cleaned it up and you can still see a faint blade etch on it.

Before......

After a little cleaning......

You can barely see the blade etch if you turn the blade just right........

Now..... on to the next one......

My Ol' Yeller Case CV canoe loves my watch pocket. So Mike, if you put it in a drawer at the end of the day only to discover that it's back in your pocket when you put your pants on in the morning......it's canoe magic. ::nod::

Thank you gentlemen!

Bruno reminded me that I needed to fill that hole in the collection and with the Queen situation being what it is, I figured I'd better get this one while I could.

Wow! Can't believe I missed your post. That's a great one. Wish more manufacturers made Canoes with a clip. Nice addition.

Another great addition. I wonder how they managed to get those blades to stay open in the position they're in? Probably stuck something between the kick and spring.

Hey Charlie, how about you break that glass and let us know how they did it? ::rotflol::

Well Bruno, I can remember saying to my son a few years back that I didn't want any of those "sealed up, can't use 'em, wall hangers". Now I have 4 of them, The John Wayne, Ducks Unlimited, the 20th Anniversary Pocket Worn set, and this one. I've got so many knives available for use I guess I can afford a couple of those "sealed up, can't use 'em, wall hangers" fer lookin' at. ::rotflol::

How about I write the folks at Case and ask them how they did it? I've got a glass breaker I stole off a fire axe cabinet when I was in high school, just in case they don't want to answer.

I have never seen a canoe with a clip master! That’s plumb slick!
