Newest Case Pick-Ups

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

I picked this tested era fish knife up last week from one of our members (Jdub). What a great knife it is and It made me reflect back on my time here and what great guys we have here. I'll relate that story in another thread. Thanks Justin! ::tu::

Well the bones can't compare with that last one, but this is my humble offering to the thread. I am really liking this more and more, thing is superb all around. Love the configuration, the thin in the pocket ride, the all steel, sweeeeeeeeetest action and snap into place. Wonderful walk/talk and sweet sound of the click. like fluid. And love the bones. No flaws I can find either. I even like the stamps, just Case xx with the long tail, USA, and one x for the date. Looks cool. TB622009 over 154-CM and one that says T. Bose. Probably the coolest Case I've ever had. Definitely. Thanks for helping me get ahold of one Railsplitter, many many thanks Kemosabe.

Someday when my ship comes in, I'm gonna get me one of them there Tony Bose/Case colab knives. They're just sweeter'n honey.

In the meantime, I kinda went overboard yesterday and now I have these Mini-Trappers waiting for Monday so the mail can get them on their way to me.

This 3-1/8" closed Case Mini-Copperhead came in yesterday's mail. Not much to say about it except the blue Krinite handles are pretty and the knife is cuter than a bug's ear. Already had one, this one makes two, pretty sure there won't be a number three.

Agreed Tom. Good pickup Bill.

Was never a Trapper man until I traded for an old XX and started carrying it. Great blades, get real sharp and hold an edge.

Almost found a real prize at the flea market, a XX 6445R. It looked real good but there was something strange about the spear. The other 3 blades, actually tools, show no evidence of use. The bone is perfect as is the bail, not lopsided, but there is evidence in my opinion that this one must have tried to skin a hot wire. There is evidence on the spine of the blade and on the front bolster of an electrical arc doing some damage. Following this track, we could account for the shortened, narrowed spear blade, I think. ::hmm:: The blade was probably salvaged by removing a burned spot on the blade by narrowing it and also shortening it. ::shrug::
It is still a fine old knife, at least 54 years old and would make a great EDC for some one who likes this style of knife.
