Need Help Identifying and pricing a Case John Wayne Knife

Hi Guys, this is my first post here. I never would have been interested in pocket knives if my dad hadn't passed and left me his collection of western memorabilia. I have a few small pocket knives, Roy Rogers, Hoppalong Cassidy, Zorro and Gene Autry I also have a Case XX 6254 SS John Wayne Trapper in a decorative case. This is what I can't find any info on. I beleive it's from 1999 judging by the Case logo and the single dot under it.
Can Anyone help me. Is this a run of the mill knife or do I save this one and pass it down to my kid? Anyone know approximate value? Is it a limited run? There is a stamp 058 on the top of the handle that makes me think it might be. All the help I can get would be appreciated. I have attached a bunch of pictures of both the knife and the case.

welcome mike. commemoratives are a crap shoot as far as value goes. i'll look on past sales for ebay to see if i can come up with a sales value.

Thanks Johnnie, I tried Ebay, found similar ones, but not the same knife. Like I said in previous, any help is appreciated. Maybe you will catch something I missed. Hopefully

to the site Mike. I don't think I can help you much but I will vouch for Johnnie! You got the right man on the job. If I had a question such as this, he is definitely the man I would check with. Now for what I do know. CASE recently put out a John Wayne knife, but the couple I seen were quiet different from yours. I don't think it's one of the newer releases but I could be wrong. It's a nice looking knife at any rate. I do think I would look at the older versions (if in fact there are any) and see if you could match it up. Not much but I really don't think it's a newer version knife.

Brad, thanks. I've seen the one you are talking about. It says "DUKE" on the handle in big lettering. It is a beautiful piece. I believe this one is from 1999. judging by the logo on the tang. There is one dot under the logo. According to this site:

From the middle of 1993 to 1999, Case returned to the dot system that was used in the 70's and 80's. Case also returned to using a long tailed C on the word Case which resembled the older tang stamps. The dots started in 1993, and one was removed for every year until 2000. On some knives in this era, the S in U.S.A. is lightening shaped like those in the 80's. (Below is the picture that accompanies this)

I have one thats similair , but not exactly as yours. Since your dad left it to you, sure you save it and pass it down to the next generation. I would guess that the production of this model was limited to a 1000 knives.
