Why Titusville Cutlery?

Just out of curiousity, what is the difference between the S&M cotton samplers and the Titusville Cutlery models?

Why a new tang stamp?

I have to agree with MM that it's all about the collector market..There is nothing different from the Schatt's or Titusville samplers with the exception of tangstamp, handling and the number produced...

Hmmm that kinda sounds like what the cutlery business has been doing for over a 100 years...How many vintage knives do we get and research only to find out that they were made by a handful of company's who only changed the tang stamp to sell it another way.

I agree, no real difference in the two knives at all, other than the shields. However, if you are collecting the different handle materials or just find the pattern interesting as I do and like low runs then they are appealing. I showed the 94' Schatt on the general thread today for a comparison.
The 94' has now become more difficult to get and some are going for pretty good money at shows.

Hey guys,
A couple of weeks ago on SMKW KnivesLive show, those Titusville Cutlery knives were "unveiled". Tony Watkins all but said his father had contracted these to be made through Queen. I guess he's got connections with people in high places. That's all I know about it.

Right caddyman1973, SMKW and Bill Horn were the only ones to get them according to Bill, just spoke with him last week. He said SMKW would be sellin them on the show only.

No difference except the trademark stampings...all 420 SS for collector market.

The knife was actually sold out before it was completed and shipped.....VERY UNUSAL as you know. .....probably never happen again with any pattern.

The Northwoods Cotton Sampler was done up in D2 steel.

the video feeds are only available while the shows on the air. a word of advice tho, keep your phone handy..the schatts, robesons, titus etc go fast.

Sorry guys! I didn't explaine myself too well. I meant the show is broadcast LIVE on the website Monday and Friday. And like Tank says, the good stuff goes REALLY FAST!
