Isn't it amazing the beauty we can't see. Who would imagine such color inside rotten logs. I have found the same thing. How gracious of the Creator to give us eyes then to surround us with beauty. "Out of the ground the LORD God caused to grow every tree that is pleasing to the sight..." Gen 2:9 Good job with finding it and adding the great looking knife.

The photo above by Ivoryman is seriously cool! ::tu:: I had picked up a piece of a hollow tree that came down over the winter (early March) when neighbors started cutting it up. I was attracted by what the inside looked like.

I'm not Squach but that's a Colonial cigar jack. If I had to guess the vintage I'd put it in the 1950s-60s range.

Charlie, got any closer info? :D

It is indeed a Colonial, Prov. USA cigar jack. I believe you are also correct on the era, most likely the '60s. I found it at a flea market a few years ago. It had seen a lot of use but was still a good EDC.

Thanks Squach, that's a good one of rotted log yourself. Hard to beat Mother Nature's backdrops.

Thank you gentlemen! I have just been taking the camera along when I walk the dog and whatever knife I'm carrying gets its picture taken a couple of times. When I get home I check out the photos I took and if there is one I like.....it gets posted here. I get some good shots of a goofy dog too! :D
