Re: Knife Photography
Thank you, gentlemen.
The rain stopped yesterday afternoon but early this morning when I took my canine muscle missile for a walk in the woods it was still overcast with a heavy wet mist in the air. It made for a very peaceful walk, even if it was a bit wet. Had these two knives with me and decided to get a shot.

Thanks Squach, that's hilarious. That tree is lying on the ground horizontal. Good eye there.

Re: Knife Photography
Ivoryman, That is a very strong shot. I think what does it is the mostly dark grey of the bark which, while obviously natural, is also remarkably uniform in its coloring and texture. This, when added to the darkness falling over most of the handle just enables the brightness of the blade to be unusually striking in it's contrast. [Kindly don't mind my commentary. I sometimes like to figure out why something appeals to me.]

Re: Knife Photography
Thanks Quick Steel. Funny you mention analyzing why you like something. I started doing that with knives. Why do we like certain ones and not others? I thought I had some reason or logic behind it. Or I try to convince myself that. But really there are many that I can't even explain why I like them, or what I like about them. Sometimes something just appeals to me at that moment. Sometimes it changes. Can't explain that at all.

Great photos fellas and some outstanding knives as well. The red, white and blue of Squatch's knives and that red congress with the stamped bolsters of
QS'S really caught my eye, nice postings by all.
I've probably already posted too many pics of this Lincoln Jack of mine but here's another just the same.
It's a warm, sunny and beautiful day here in my part of the midwest for a change.

I agree with Ivoryman, a great photo of an outstanding knife.
Many pics of different poses never stopped me from looking at Marilyn Monroe either!
Classics easily bare repeated photographing and viewing.

Thanks I-Man. the giraffe bone on the pile side is even nicer than that on the front, I'm lucky that I was able to get the one I wanted in that scramble.Ivoryman wrote:Great shot of a great knife Sunknife. Never gets tiring seeing beauties in new poses. Great bones on that one.
Thanks Squatch, although Marilyn pictures are far better viewing than any knife photo.Sasquach wrote:I agree with Ivoryman, a great photo of an outstanding knife. Many pics of different poses never stopped me from looking at Marilyn Monroe either!

Thanks doglegg!
We take a two mile walk every day, usually in the morning. Here's another morning walk shot from this morning. Even got the canine muscle missile in background....unintentionally....he saw some minnows and went to investigate just as I snapped the shot.
