F - C- yetti and a few other non NRA business es I had fun at the range this afternoon I burned up the last of the steel case junk also I wouldn't use that stuff if it were free...also them overseas yetti'$ WILL make great twenty five yard targets

My guys at church this morning were ready to start a new Yetti challenge. They want to see just how many rounds they can shoot into a cooler before it disintegrates. They lost all the business from me and my buddies.

Wade, the results of a "Yeti challenge" would be a great thing to put on social media with an explanation! I was always impressed with the coolers the fellers had that would keep ice for many days now I'll just keep using my old Igloo. (Hope they haven't gone PC on us and we don't know it.)

One of the guys at church who has several yeti things said the same thing this morning. He wants to video his new "Yetti Challenge" and put it up on youtube.

I know on RTIC they say that their stuff is made in China, I always assumed that the Yetti stuff was too.

I recently bought a clone at HEB, our local grocery, gas and whatever store. Less than half price and quality is at least equal, if not better.

I think it would make an impression on Yeti if they received a few thousand of their used yeti products arrived at their business offices. Perhaps some of you outdoorsmen could get a movement going.

For what it’s worth, the back peddling has started. Now Yetti is claiming it’s all a misunderstanding.

Yeti ran their colors up the flagpole - now they're going to have to live with it, they own it. I won a large Yeti cooler in a company sales contest year before last, but turned it down (obviously not for political reasons - they are too heavy when loaded to get in and out of the boat by myself). I asked for a pair of Vortex binoculars instead (and the company got them for me). Not long ago I saw an Igloo Cooler in Cabela's (about 50 quart size) that weighs the same as their ordinary coolers, is rated five days, and cost about $100.00 - I imagine those will begin to take a bite out of the sales of $400 - $500 dollar coolers. OH

Anyone that owns a Yeti product has already paid for it. Yeti and the retailer have your money. Destroying your own bought and paid for property will not affect Yeti in the least and you will have the expense of replacing the item.

That's ridiculous.

If you want to send Yeti a message, then a boycott on future sales is the only thing that will work, other than negative exposure of their actions.

A local talk radio host is giving away decals to cover the "YETI" logos. It reads, 'SHITI".

I recently was shopping for a cooler that would fit within a surf rod rack that is mounted into the hitch receiver of my Jeep Wrangler. I looked at Yeti ($350), Engel ($300), Pelican ($250) and Igloo ($80), all of which had between 4 and 7 days of advertised ice retention. Guess which one I chose.....the made in America Igloo which had the best fit and finish, all stainless hardware, was the lightest and had the most interior capacity. Who in their right mind would drop $350 on a cooler, the cost benefit analysis of ice savings (IMHO) isn't worth it.

As to Yeti's discontinuing their relationship with the NRA Foundation, only time will tell the negative (or positive) affects it will have on their bottom line. Personally, I learned long ago that business and politics are like oil and water and best left separated.

If you own one don't destroy it. Sell it and you get the money instead of Yeti. Flood the market with used ones and people will not be buying new ones. Hurt earnings sends the best message.

I looked for specs and could not find them. Judging from the size of the 77# rock they started with likely a very heavy gun is my guess. Like way beyond a Desert Eagle heavy. Be interested to know the loaded weight.

Saw where YETI also posted 30.06 (no concealed carry allowed) and 30.07 (no open carry allowed) signs at their company store in Austin. So the store is now a gun free zone. (For everyone but criminals of course!)

For you non-Texans, 30.06 and 30.07 refer to sections of the Texas penal code dealing with Texas License to Carry and Open Carry laws, respectively. The required signage that must be posted to prohibit licensed carry is very specific. If the signage doesn't comply it can be ignored. (Simply putting a decal of a gun in a circle with a line through it on a door doesn't comply with the law's requirements.)

I posted about me and the boys shooting in the pasture yesterday over in the outdoor thread. But I thought I’d put his here.

We tested out the Shockwave with two loads. The first is Winchester 1 1/4 oz #4 shot that I keep the Shockwave loaded with beside the bed. Yes, I know buck is more devestating, but there are kid’s bedrooms close by and the over penetration issue is just too much of a danger.

The second target is federal OO buck. Both were shot from the Shockwave at 10 yards which is about the farthest in the house shot I’d have. Looking at the pics I think either one would give a feller a bad day on the wrong end.

I saw one of these at my local gun store for a something over 300 if memory serves. I was surprised how short it was in person. How does that feel in the hand when fired Colonel? Either load you used.
