Case xx fixed blade

This is my story, sad but true, lol Anyhow, I had this knife and somehow it got put into a lot and was sold, and I have wanted it or a similar one ever since. The only problem is that I don't have any photos of it. So my only way now is to describe it, so here goes; It is a fixed blade Case xx knife, I believe it had a stainless blade because I don't remember any rust, or it may have been chrome plated. My particular knife had someone's name rather sloppily engraved on the blade, It most resembled a 957SAB or maybe the RM61, I think the blade was fullered and the knife had the mushroom pommel and a celluloid handle. It's the handle that I liked so much, it was white with candy stripe, red and maybe blue and orange? stripes. I don't remember the stripe colors exactly. Anyhow, the handle was very thick in the center. It could have been plastic material handle, I know it was glossy. Anyhow, at the time the sloppy engraving across the blade kept me from paying special attention to it, and that's how it ended in the lot that was sold.
I would buy or trade for this knife that I had, or a similar one if anyone has one. Thank you all very much!

That sounds like the proverbial, "finding needle in the haystack" but if folks knew what area of the country this took place, it's a possibility someone might have it or may run across your described knife. There always hope.

I would suggest the following, look on ebay, refine your search terms and start looking for the knife. Keep in mind the handle material can and does change but the basic knife model is the same. As you may know Case pattern numbers change to address different handle materials. If your knife is much older than the 1970's, some knives you will see won't have a pattern number on them. Buying an old Sargent's Knives and Razors book will help a lot. Good luck!

Since Case didn't make fixed blade knives with candy stripe handles I think the knife was likely a theater modified knife, or a knife with an otherwise altered handle.

Thanks for the tip, Treefarmer, the place was West Haven, CT. where the lot it was in originated from.
I guess that explains why I can't find it in any of the Case guides, Gunsil, now I can stop lookin', Thanks.
I guess it just got tougher to find, eh? Well, I hope someone has it and no longer wants it, seeing that it is not an actual true Case knife.

I am looking for that Sargent's book right now, Steve99f. Thanks for the advice, I will start applying those suggestions tomorrow. I'm a glass half full guy so all this input has really given me hope.
