owl brand knives

on a scale of one to ten guys what is your opinion on owl brand knives? Are they made in germany or china? some people say that you need to be careful because some are made in china but stamped Germany!

There is actually a town in China named Germany, These knives
are made there. Germany China is where they make rollerblades
also. So all of you knife and rollerblade collectors be aware of Germany
China.

In all honesty I have no idea, im kidding about Gremany China.
Im all hopped up on sinus medicine and Robutussin.
I feel like crap!

I have not seen any Owl Brand knives yet. If they are like some of the others I have been seeing lately, I would say China.

has the right ideal. You can buy it already mixed legally as "Old Mr. Boston's Rock & Rye", only about 35 proof. It's Rock Sugar & Rye Whiskey mixed. Just a shot every so offen. It will clear everything out and put a smile on your face.

It's even got lemons, oranges and cherries floating around in there.

That Robo stuff makes me feel worst, I have found. Too much stuff.......

I have seen Owlhead around eBay for about 18 months and bought 3 about a year ago. The tang was stamped with Munich Ironworks. I have seen a couple with tang stamps of Solingen Germany and some with Munich Germany. On all knives the reverse of the tang was stamped with OIL THE JOINTS. That's 3 diferent tang stamps I have seen. Since they have been around for at least 1 1/2 years you would expect to find information on the internet. I have not been able to find Owl Head or Munich Ironworks anywhere. They are shipped in bulk to exclusive dealers. They are sharp, but thats just the angle they were shapened, some are 440 steel. The faux abalone looks identical to the Rough Rider. The ones I had, had good snap, retained an edge ok, and felt good in my hand. Since I cannot find ANY information on them, it seems as if the actual country of origin is being hidden. I think they are better than the Rough Riders and it may be possible that they are indeed from China. They did make a decent carrying knife and were solid, NS bolsters and brass liners. After 1 year I resold mine on eBay for what I bought them for. I do not really know if they are German or Chinese knock-offs. I suspect Chinese only because I can find no info, 3 tang stamps, and the handles of faux abalone are just like Rough Riders. I did not feel as if the were of collector quality.

im almost positive they are made in germany. i dont have any but my father in law carries one and im pretty sure its made in germany also. i dont think they have very much collectibitly value but he likes his and carries it all the time.

Hi Guys,
Hope this will help a little.. I bought this canoe 5 years ago at a flea market for 20 bucks...It IS real sharp and holds a good edge. I use it some times at work, skinning wire ect.

Some say Munich Germany, Munich Ironworks, Solingen and some Solingen Germany, there may be other tang stamps. It does say Germany, but I don't believe it. The Chinese are notorious counterfitters of many things including knives. I don't think the Germans can make a $9.00 knife and sell it without losing money. If anyone can find any information on them I would appreciate it. Since I can't it screams Chinese. I do agree with Steve, it's not a collector quality knife, but it's a decent carrier that holds an edge OK. Not bad for $9.00 to $10.00. It is definitely better than Rough Rider or Steel Warrior (Frost Cutlery) in my opinion.
