It sure is. I have had to give up rifle shooting for the most part (except rimfire) because of two shoulder surgeries (the butt of the rifle sits right on the scar). So the TC single shots have become my preferred weapons. I have been using a TC Contender G2 14" in 223 Remington and an old model Contender in 17HMR and have now added this new one. 17HMR works good out to 150 yards and 223 Rem to 200 to 250yds. Recoil from the 204 is minor.

Old model Contender 14" in 17 Hornady Magnum Rimfire.

That is nasty! Love it! My Les Baer is awfully accurate. Thinking on getting a scope for it, but I wouldn't put it against your rig. Nice!

That Contender with the 223 barrel would work good on Mr. Chuck.

Just in case any are unaware of it, Remington has gone belly up and seeking a bankruptcy ruling.

They're quality has gone down significantly over the years. That's why I didn't get their Alabama made 1911.

Right, their quality reputation suffered a lot including Marlin when they absorbed that. There are too many good quality gun manufacturers for a company with poor QC to survive.

I seriously hope that Remington can right the ship and get their operation back to where it needs to be. I have been a fan of both Remington and Marlin guns for many years and I would hate to see them cease production. The loss of a major firearms manufacturer is not good for the country for many reasons.

Don't know if any of you gunners would be interested but you might check out SMKW which is now offering ammo in a good range of calibers and a fair amount of brands. A lot of American Eagle, but there is some Buffalo Bore, Fiocchi etc. For semi-autos I suggest you try a box of Fiocchi which is the cleanest shooting ammo I've ever encountered. If you have never tried Fiocchi I think you will be impressed.

We had a St. Bernard for a short time that destroyed a five hundred dollar beeper in the early 70's.

However, I blame the irresponsible gun owner, not the animal

We had a dog that ate all the wires off the top of 6 automatic lawn sprinkler valves. That same dog ate a box of kid's crayons and pooped Skittles for a week. A buddy of mine had a dog that ate the natural gas line going from his house to his gas grill. Luckily, he always turned the valve off at the house when he wasn't using the grill. He replaced his gas line with braided stainless steel...

Anyone else out there have a grocery store in their town that also sells hardware and firearms or is it just me? Odd.

Here's an old Smith & Wesson ".32 Regulation Police" revolver, made circa 1917.
6" barrel, nickel plated, 'I' frame, six shot, .32 long cartridge.

Here's another kind of unusual rifle. This is a Marlin Model '94 lever action rifle, made circa 1907. Octagon barrel. Caliber is .25-20!

Love the .32 S&W long. I shoot WC in my 32 H&R mag, no mags, just .32 S&W long. Sweet shooting, gentle and quiet and more accurate than me.

What a great old gun. 25-20 considered a deer getter in its day. Kind of expensive to shoot now. I have a modern 94 in .357/.38, love it as well.

I have to be honest - although I was certainly familiar with the Marlin model 36 & 336, I didn't know Marlin also had a model 94 lever gun. I guess the Winchester 94 got all the press.

The 94 is a very sweet pistol caliber carbine. A fun gun and quiet capable out to 150 yards with .357.
