I came home to find this cool T-shirt on my porch from Mike, XX Case XX. Thank you, Mike! It's awesome!

Another anonymous bomber has stuck Starvation Plantation! Similar to an earlier bombing, the perpetrator used another Rough Rider knife.
When I got the mail this afternoon, there was a padded envelope with my name on it and I made an assumption it was from TripleF as he is sending me an old Queen City jack. Well I opened the package and there is a RR box. 1st thought, Scott put the knife in that box as he always sends his mailings well protected. Okay, open the box and there is a RR Muskrat so I assume Scott had mailed me the wrong knife by accident, then I decided to read the shipping label. Not Scott, some gentleman I haven't identified yet was kind enough to bomb me with a beautiful RR Muskrat, an RR880, smooth "butterscotch colored" smooth bone. Not the same address as the RR Trapper from last October. My limited detective skills have not helped a bit. Neither RR bomb had an accompanying note of explanation. I appreciate Muskrat patterns for their practicality when I use them during deer season. If this knife will hold an edge like the RR Trapper did, it will be a real winner! (Even if it did come from over there) :)
Thank you anonymous bomber! ::handshake::

Treefarmer, your getting a pretty big pile of them RR. I received this from Roger (peanut) I had mentioned to him I'd like to carry a R4466, he sent this off to get the delrin handles removed and they put some great looking stag on it. Thanks Roger ::handshake::

Here we go doglegg:
This morning my wife and I walked to the mailbox enjoying a beautiful morning. She was anxious to get the mail as she was expecting a special birthday card from our eldest daughter. The card was in the mail along with a card from her 94 year old dad, made her day! She asked me, "Are you expecting a knife?" I told her no. She said it looks like somebody sent you one. She handed me the padded envelope, I recognized the name, it was from 313 Mike. Inside was a note explaining what was going on. I was overwhelmed with the generosity of two of AAPK's wonderful members!
You see, back a week or so, 313 Mike had offered a 2137 SS Case for sale on the forum. I didn't notice the post until after the knife was sold. It was purchased by another well known member, Paladin. I commented on the forum to Mike something like, I missed a good grandson knife. He sent me a PM and asked if I was looking for "grandson Knives", I replied no, but that one caught my eye and would have been a good one. We exchanged a couple more PMs talking about gardening, weather and such.
Fast forward to this morning, I found two knives in the envelope, the small Sodbuster and a Camillus 51 Barlow, with a wonderful note that makes me very proud to be associated with such kind gentlemen here on AAPK forum. I asked their permission to share the note, Ray, aka Paladin, said he didn't do what he did for recognition but I was welcome to share with the forum. Mike responded in the affirmative as well.
I've been bombed a few times, even anonymously with a couple of Rough Riders but this occasion set me to thinking about what kind of folks make up AAPK. There are several very special knives that have been sent to me over the years and I appreciate them, each one. For some reason this has been very special to me. Thank you Ray and Mike. ::handshake::

Thanks Treefarmer, it was worth the wait. And what kindness. And now you have a couple of very special knives to share with your grandson. Thanks for sharing. And thanks to Ray and Mike for making it happen. Good story.

He sure hit the nail squarely on the head.

That brought to mind, are book matches still available? They used to be everywhere, a popular method of advertising but I don't recall seeing any in a long time. How about strike to light kitchen matches and I don't mean safety matches. Have they been banned by the "I'm gonna take care of you" idiots because someone might light a fire?

Jerry I don't think the old "strike anywhere" matches are still available. Apparently they posed too big of a threat to the public to be allowed any longer. (I feel much safer don't you? )

Tons.

Thanks Scott. I haven't needed a match in a small forever so had no clue. Although, I think I do have a small box of "safety" matches around here someplace. Couldn't find them the last time I needed a match, then later I ran on to them but didn't need a match at the time. ::uc::

Headed to the grocery store here in a minute. I think I'll buy a box of matches. :mrgreen:

Bought a box of strike-any-where matches today at the grocery store so yes, they do still sell them.
