Wanted list for AAPK members

Post by knifegnome »

I know there is a list for member names and ebay handle. Is there a list for what each member collects? I pick up knives I know others collect and they do the same.I also find knives on ebay that don't have the makers name or pattern in the title and can be easily missed by a collector. It would be nice to have a list to help others find what they collect.

Excellent idea.

Sounds like the perfect job for someone with plenty of spreadsheet experience who also spends an inordinate amount of time surfing a wide variety of knives on eBay...

Hmmm...why does the name "TwoFlowersLuggage" keep popping up in my mind? ::hmm::

When I saw the title of this thread my first thought was "oh no! We made the list on the wall at the post office!" ::woot::

Ummm, wait, wut?

If someone gives me the data, I can spreadsheet the heck out of it!

However, collecting the data on who collects what is 'nuther kettle of fish. I suspect the problem will be in the details. For example, one person might describe themselves as just a "Case Collector", while another person might say they collect "Only mint condition Case green bone knives from prior to 1940", and a third member might say "All Case Copperlock, Trapperlock & Russlock knives". Ultimately, you would need to manually scan down the list and make the connections yourself. I also suspect that more often than not, when you contacted the member with what you think is a match, the member might not think so, or might not be in a position to purchase. I'm not trying to be a negative Nancy, but I also wouldn't want you to spend time looking for knives for me and then have your effort be for nothing.

BTW, I have NOT purchased a knife on ebay *today*... ::tounge::
