You guys are going to need to help me with this one. It is a 9207 Trapper with a tang stamp of 2013. The main blade is etched "Premier Edition 1 of 500" and "Ivory Quartz Corelon". What is a "Premier Edition" Case? All I know is that it's kind of pretty...

My guess about "Premier Edition" would be that this is their first rollout of the ivory quartz corelon.
Just a guess, though.

Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups
Steve , I think you are correct. I had a wild looking corelon muskrat from 2003 I believe that said 1 of 500 premier edition on the blade. I think it signifies first year production of that corelon design as you said.

Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups
I don't keep up much with the newer stuff from Case, so when a question like this arises I go to the Case Collectors Club forum to look for information. There's some really hard core collectors of newer Case knives that hang out there, so if it's been done by Case usually someone there has it, or at least has posted about it. I couldn't find anything there about "Premier Edition" or "Ivory Quartz". I did find some posts about Corelon SFO knives from Shepherd Hills Cutlery.
If you do a search for Corelon on the W.R. Case website nothing comes up. What you do see there is a lot about Kirinite which is very similar to Corelon. I don't follow most things Case has done since about 1980, so I could be wrong but your knife may have been a SFO by Shepherd Hills Cutlery. IIRC, Frost Cutlery owns the Corelon name and possibly did the SFO on your knife, for Shepherd Hills.
Or it may be a Frost release.
I'm probably wrong so if someone here knows more please share it.

Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups
The Case website shows the prefix of "9" in pattern number as being either imitation MoP or Corelon.
A ton of different Corelon colors have been produced. Whether Case actually made these in-house or not, I do not know.

Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups
Knife has nothing to do with Case. The Cherokee that Case made was assigned to a specific fixed blade knife in the Indian series hunters with black phenolic handles.RalphAlsip wrote:This knife was a gift from a gentleman at my church who knows that I collect knives because I frequently show him the knife I carry to church. It is marked Cherokee and Solingen Steel. It looks like a Case 6265 and my Goins book says that Case used a Cherokee mark in 1976 and 1977. Just wondering if someone might be able to confirm is this Cherokee marked knife was made Case or if not who might have made it. It doesn't feel like a Case knife in hand. The blade open and close is not smooth and the snappiness is not what I would expect.
Many thanks for any insight that can be provided.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups
Another Peanut came today! This is a 2010, and what drew me to it is the crest shield. The seller said "Amber Bone", but it doesn't look quite like the Amber Bone I know. I looked in a 2010 WR Case catalog I found on the web and I didn't see any knives with a crest shield. Does anyone know what series this is from? Was it specific to a dealer like SMKW or SHC?

Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups
I think I just found the answer to my own question...
I found a 2010 Promotional Catalog that shows a Peanut in Antique Bone with a crest shield.
Oh good grief, farther in the catalog is another one, this one is "Caramel Bone". I actually think this might be it...

I was bombed by XX Case XX this week. Along with a Rough Rider stockman and a couple of Bucks (pics over in the Bomb thread), Mike sent along this gorgeous 2007 5318.
Thanks again, Mike!!

TFL are you thinking of buying an elephant or monkey as you are stock piling all those peanuts? Nice looking knife.TwoFlowersLuggage wrote:Another Peanut came today! Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups
Both new to me this weekend. Posted elsewhere earlier. Both blades are chrome plated, flat ground and don't look as if either has been sharpened. Both came with a sheath, the 92 sheath is in great shape but I can't say the same for the 366(?). That sheath was rode hard and put away wet. If anyone has one for sale that matches the condition of the knife, I'm interested. I think the smaller knife is a 366 based on what I could find in Sargent's 4th. Can someone confirm that or ID it for me? I've attached some pictures. Thanks for looking.
