Technically my 110 isnt a new addition, but this is my first Buck that I bought last year and love it! Use it often, she got pampered tonite with a cleaning, possibly waiting for an automatic 110 sibling in the near future[image]

A 110 is the iconic Buck Knife - good way to start accumulating Buck's GMichael.

My latest Buck, a plain jane Buck 119, tang stamped 1998, from a pawnshop this past week; needed cleaning up and a new edge. The 420HC is a nice bladesteel in that you can work it easily with stones (used a Lansky kit at the 25° setting). OH

I just ordered a Standard 110 Auto. I hope that this knife is a good sample. I have a 110 "round button" conversion. While it works well, it has no "Forever Warranty". It also employs a torque (coil) spring opening mechanism. (Reliability being a key element, of course).

We'll see how this purchase pans out.

Went Bream fishing this past Thursday, carried a Buck that a friend gifted me with several years ago; first time used. OH

Love that "finger groove" handle. The knife is wonderfully utilitarian. There's something to be said for a "working" knife. While "play pretties" are fun, a "working" knife has a glow all its own.

Ah..I've been Buck blessed this last week with 4,four new 112's. First is a double drop point with 2002 anniversary emblem in the handle and anvil tang stamp by Leroy. I'm missing the one I bought in 2008 that had a 482 drop point and a different year tang stamp. Next one is a Ecolite 112 build out with a 450 wide blade with a thumb stud. .That's a black one. Oddest of the bunch is a 811 hawk bill set in a 112 frame. I can see the ghost outline of the Buck Workman pad print if I tilt the blade just right. Last one is a reblade of a BCCI LE that came with a chip flint blade but David used it for a custom 110/112 double chippy. He had Leroy put a anvil tang drop point blade in it for me. It's the one that had Ironwood and jiged Buffalo horn in a nickel silver frame and dividers. I gave my brother a 1 of 2 Dave Yellowhorse custom 112 and he's making it up to me lol! plus some cash of course. .Shame on me for not learning how to post pictures from my phone yet. ..

I ordered a Buck 110 Folding Hunter Pro last Monday, it came in Friday's mail. This knife locks like a bank vault and has many upgraded features - S30V blade steel, G10 handles, and brushed nickel bolsters - wonder why Buck etched the tang marking instead of stamping it? OH

The steel makes the difference, doesn't it? Great knives demand rigorous use. That is beautiful.

Thanks Dogg. I bought this one to use, always wanted a "super steel" knife and I love the Buck 110 design. Time will tell if it pushes my favorite Two-Dot out of its rightful place in the woods. OH

Since the Bos heat-treatment raises the HRc of the S30V steel to between 59.5 - 61 you can "ride the knife hard and put it away wet" without fear of corrosion. This puts the Buck 110 into an entirely different league.

That's very nice! Another great "tool" that has its place in the woods. (I can see that it has been used. That gives the knife a "personality" all its own).

I'll have my "factory fresh" Buck 110 Auto by Friday at 10:00 a.m. There's something to be said for their "Forever Warranty" and a torque-drive that snaps open the blade with a "thwack". (So says the Buck representative at the SHOT show). These are so impressive. Born and bred in the USA! (It doesn't get any better than this)!

It is too bad that I can't post a picture of my new knife as I haven't that capability. Perhaps the Old Hunter could import a photograph from Blade Play or Blade HQ.
