Estwing Carpenters Hatchet rehandled

Post by TripleF »

Found this beast at an estate sale and the leather binders were eroding.....

Stripped the leather, removed most of the rust, packed in some cardboard and wrapped in "Never Lose Me" lime green, aka Zombie Green.

This are good little hatchets. I have one I cord wrapped and reshaped the head into a little bag axe. I'm going to rebuild one in a fancier stacked leather pattern someday when I have time.

I like it. I have a SOG BATTLE AX. THE HANDLE IS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE, which is why he sold it. I may try that when I figure out how too secure the start and end of the cord.
