I always recommend this stuff for hand polishing metals and thought someone here may be interested.

It leaves a water resistent coating. I have used it for years on gold & silver pocket watch cases and silverware. I have been using it on my mint knives and straight razors also, it really removes tarnish and they stay that way. It will put a high polish on just about anything except painted, coated or anodized surfaces. It will clean up pits, but will not remove them. It is not abravisive in any way.
I have even seen Folks that will detail their show bikes/autos with it. Just a dab will do, about half a pencil eraser

Thanks 9ball.I am always on the lookout for better products to take care of my knives. My present favorite polish has been Happich Semichrome for metal and Renaissance Wax for everything else. In your experience, how would you compare these? I probably should add that I only use Rust Free for high carbon or damascus steels.

As far as a Paste polish; I have used METAL-GLO, Flitz, & Semichrome.
Semichrome was the best until I found this stuff. It is more like a cream, which makes is easy to get out of tight spots. If you hand polish large pieces like a platter, it washes out of the grooves/design under warm water easily also.

I did not bring up up Renaissance Wax, mainly because that is what you do after the polish & everybody knows it's the best wax for cutlery or should. IMHO

Everybody hates seeing that first little spot.

I believe you will like the results. A tube like this only cost about 5 or 6 bucks.

Just put a dab of each on a piece of white paper and you can see the difference, the others look more like a tar or heavy paste. This feels creamy, but not thick. The others feel grainy to me. If you tap the tube on a hard surface, you can feel it vibrate, if that makes sense.
I was told it is made in Germany, but on the tube is sezs "Made in the E.E.C."

I had some spots starting to appear on the face of a Boker master blade with a reverse etch; It removed the spots but did not harm the etch. And I rubbed it hard.

Next question, 9ball. Where did you get the polish? If the stuff works and you recommend it, I would like to obtain it and try it. It makes no difference who made it. I guess what I am trying to say is, can you buy it in a store or do you have to order by mail, only?

Follow the link I posted and ask them if there is a supplier/dealer near you first.

I know one person on "The Big Island", said they found it in a auto paint shop. It will polish fiberglass (boat shop, surf boards, etc) and it also will polish celluloid.
If you cannot find it locally; You can find it where everything else is, eBay.
Shipping is a concern there though.
I got this tube from a jewelry repair shop in Knoxville.
