I always recommend this stuff for hand polishing metals and thought someone here may be interested.

It leaves a water resistent coating. I have used it for years on gold & silver pocket watch cases and silverware. I have been using it on my mint knives and straight razors also, it really removes tarnish and they stay that way. It will put a high polish on just about anything except painted, coated or anodized surfaces. It will clean up pits, but will not remove them. It is not abravisive in any way.
I have even seen Folks that will detail their show bikes/autos with it. Just a dab will do, about half a pencil eraser
