Newest Case Pick-Ups

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

I thought it was a great score at $20. Especially since it is my birth year.

Today I received the little 225L lockback (on the bottom), shown here with the 059L (on the top) that I received a while ago. I have never figured out why Case has so many similar stainless lockbacks. You can see the differences and similarities here - they are the same size, but have different blade shapes, and the 059L has a lanyard hole.

That's a beauty! Rough black is very cool - it looks tough just sitting there!

Here are the two that came in today's mail. A '40-64 era 6220 CV peanut in red bone and a brown delrin 61048 slim trapper from 1998.

Mike, are you a professional photographer, by any chance? All your knife photos look like pin-ups out of a knife magazine. Very nice.
Makes my pics look like they were shot by a five yr old on a disposable camera. ::facepalm::
But, what can I say...I'm a knife collector, not a photographer (although apparently some people are both).
Here are my most recent acquisitions...07s, of course.

I'm guessing Mike has a some sort of Photo lightbox. That can be an indispensable tool for online sellers.

I need to get one of those. Been thinking about it for years. Thanks for the link.

I'm guessing, but I believe there were some crossed wires with your AAPK member id "XxTEstedxX" and another AAPK member id of "XX Case XX" whose name is Mike from Southern California.

No worries, just giving y’all a hard time.

I actually am getting a larger white box soon, I’ll see if I can do some larger knives.

lol - I only said Mike because Q called you Mike! I even looked up at your post and thought to myself, "hmm, it doesn't say Mike - oh well, I guess Q knows..." ::doh::

Oh well, Jerry has been calling me Terry since I joined, but I'm not Terry - I just have a quote from the author Terry Pratchett in my signature. I've just been going with it... (I luv ya Jerry!) :D

Yup, RalphAlsip (whose real name isn't Ralph, BTW) nailed it...I crossed my XxxX wires and mixed up the names. Sorry 'bout that, Zach. I'm probably safer sticking to user names than trying to remember everyone's real names.

I have a spreadsheet, started by and shared by Dale (orvet), that I try to keep updated as I see little tidbits about a member (first name, location, military service, birthday, etc, etc). There are over 400 members in it but as TwoFlowersLuggage has been so kind to point out, it's not 100% accurate. I prefer first names or nicknames. Using screen names just leaves me cold and for me, using something like TwoFlowersLuggage in a personal kind of way is clumsy. No offense intended to anyone's chosen screen name.
