Thanks, it wasn't a bargain but a good deal considering the condition. I don't imagine I'll be able to upgrade itespn77 wrote:Pretty impressive return knife Zack

I was thinking about going UA for a while but if it doesn't work, why bother.

Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups
I just picked up this Case tested era 640045 in Greenbone. I love the knife. Great snap and in wonderful condition. I have to find a bail but that is ok. Here are a few pictures.

Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups
Great knife Zach!
Awesome knife Ed. Just curious, are you sure on the model number? That model number would make it a contract knife made for CASE by someone else as I recall. Normally they were more low budget with thinner stock, cheaper materials like in handles and no shield.
Could be way off in my statement but that is what I know from some of the contract knives I have.
This is my response with no research material at hand.
Either way, great old knife.

Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups
Thanks Jerry. I am not 100% positive on the model number. I was going by the length. In the Pocket Knife Traders Guide volume 8 it lists in the tested era the 6445 R but they are 3 3/4 inches long and they list the 640045 R at 3 5/8 inches long. It feels and looks like it was made by Case and not contacted out. It is a solid super nice knife. I appreciate the question Jerry as I would love to be sure of the pattern.zp4ja wrote:Great knife Zach!

Thanks Tony. It's my first time even handling a Mini Copperhead. Nice little knife and the blades both have great snap. I just put the box away minutes ago and I didn't check the label but the dealer I got it from lists it as Sawcut Crimson Bone.Tsar Bomba wrote:I'm a big, big fan of the 109W, Railsplitter. EDIT: The box label reads "BBB Crimson". I can only guess that means BarnBoard Crimson but I don't know where that third B comes into play.
