2000 cranberry bone silver script/2001 abolone russ lock

Well i just got into collecting Case knives. I recently bought 6 of the cranberry bone silver script knives and also a 2001 Abolone Russlock. I have a couple of questions. When the Silver Script first came out was there problems in the manufacturing of the knives in regards to actually putting the silver script into the handle? Also, on the Russ lock, i can't find any price in any catalogs regarding what it is worth. In fact i'm kind of partial to concentrating my collecting on Black Lip Pearl and Abolone and i can't find anything anywhere on different patterns that offer those handle materials. Any help or guidance that you can give would greatly be appreciated. Thank you for your time. Oh, forgot to ask. In regards to those cranberry silver script knives that i purchased. If the Script is perfect in those would it increase the value years down the road when and IF it came time to sell them?

newbie, I am not a Case collector, so I cannot shed any light on your question, but I would suggest that you check with the Case Collector information on this website. I do, however, share your preference for black pearl and abalone. You might want to visit the Knife-Auction.

Well i was wrong about the date on the Cranberry Bone. It is 2001. I got my shipment in today that i ordered. Oh my gosh. The Gold Lip Mother of Pearl Cheetah Cub. I really didn't appreciate it until today when i took it outside in the SUNLIGHT and looked at it. The bricked Pearl Copperlock that i got also is something else. I'm going to post some pictures tomorrow when my wife figures out how. LOL

Hi Newbie, I have seen the Cranberry Bone Russlock knives for $42.00 and I have seen folks gouged at $70.00 and more in other places. Check our knife auction, they have some nice deals, better than eBay where thugery reins. When in the company of thugs..........
I have the entire set of Cranberry Bone knives, 2001 and 2002, I think their value will go up, how much, I don't know, depends on how many they made and more importantly-demand.
For taking pictures of knives, I prefer natural light, I think a flash stinks when taking pictures of pearl

. Artificial lighting is OK for for stag and other materials, but I don't like it for pearl, thats my preference. Using a digital camera allows you to take as many pictures as the card will hold, experiment with angles and lighting to pick up the colors in pearl.
I have a lot invested in photographic equipment and I do a lot of wildlife and outdoor photography. Good Luck!

Howdy newbie,

When Case first started applying the Silver Script shield on there knives there were problems in regards to pin cracking as these shields have three to four pins that hold the shield in place depending on which pattern it is & they took great pains in changing there tooling methods for this shield (so the talk is among Case collectors)! ... Below is an example of the larger pattern that I collect with that handle & shield that's out of my personal collection!
