Yard sale gift from my wife. George Schrade presto knife says pat Jan 30-40, made in Bridgeport, Ct. Looks like plastic handles, has some spotting on the blades if anyone has an idea on how to remove without scratching the blade?

Personally, I'd just keep the spotting and slip that bad boy into a pocket. ::nod::

Great find, whatever you do with it!

That looks like it may be the original finish. I would not do anything to it. The knife looks hardly used if at all.

kj, You are absolutley correct. It used to be that the two fighting dogs indicated a first generation. But the same etch was later brought back messing up, imo, the mark. My apple coral Bulldog is a prototype which is etched on the blade.

OK thanks, it doesn't look like it was ever sharpened or used, and opens good.

Thanks, I will put it in my collection since my wife gave it to me, it wasn't expensive but I don't want to explain to my wife why it doesn't look like it did when she gave it to me. She thought it was new.

That is a really nice one. Sometimes to remove very light discoloration from blades, I use Flitz polish by hand on a cotton cloth, but it looks really good as is.

OK thanks, I tried Mothers mag polish, didn't help it, I'm just going to leave it alone and enjoy it the way it is.

Thanks Rick, I don't have many knives yet and it is in the top two or three for looks. I guess the handles are plastic, not an expert, definitely like bone or stag better.

Paul, very nice knife! A great selection by Santa :) It's good to see a modern, but traditional knife from Case.

Very nice Paul. Congratulations.

This was in my stocking. I requested it but didn't really think I would get it. Looks much better in hand than it does in the pictures.

I didn't get a knife for Christmas this year, however I did give my daughter a pink camo SAK, and she was very happy. And even used it to help open her other gifts.
