Beautiful knives, Jdub! Since someone has to follow that
I'll be the sacrificial lamb. These big boys arrived today - both in better shape than I expected. Schrade 51OT, and Frontier 4624.

Lord have mercy, that's incredible stuff there. Great pattern, great stag, great amber, great blade steel; everything. What's not to love? Congrats, hope you didn't break the bank.Jdub wrote:Just landed this Amber Stag Lannys Clip.

These are great Knives, I had never had 52100 but the stuff is awesome. Gets super sharp and the edge lasts relatively long. The Lanny’s Clip is a great pattern. I had ordered one With Micarta Handles but his amber stag is second to none. Thanks for the compliment, I appreciate it.Ivoryman wrote:Lord have mercy, that's incredible stuff there. A Case 3137 showed up today, thanks to TripleF. Unsharpened but with a few spots on the CV blade. Ought to be a great EDC.

Your wife has good taste.
I have had my eye on that Buck Auto most of the year.
Unfortunately, here in Ca. I can not carry it past my property line.
It's always important to know what you don't know.

I believe the Buck 110 is one of the 2017 knives of the year according to Knife Magazine. Also won "best new auto" from Knife News.
I've been thinking of getting one since I learned of its existence. Seems to be an object of universal praise (Buck, go figure).
My latest arrival is just a plain-Jane slipjoint:

I like the f&f on this Rough Rider. Nice, decisive half stops. The factory spent some extra effort on sharpening the blades. I have found the RR blades always arrive with a good degree of sharpness. But I would describe these blades as being super sharp. Really impressive.

Wow QS ! I need one of those Black Widow RR's. Might be hard for me to carry though due to my arachnophobia. The shield spider looks ready to spring on you.

kj, It certainly is different isn't it? The more I fondle it the more impressed I become. Just a tad heavier than I would like in an EDC. But the execution is first rate.

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Nice "New Pick-ups" posted in the last couple of days.
Especially like Scotts mailbox, bdev's "Fallkniven" and Quick Steel's RR Black Widow.
QS, I think you sold me on the RR1671 Black Widow Large Stockman. The RR1674 Lockback is also nice, all 6 Black Widow RRs can be viewed on SMKW.
kj, If you EDC a RR Black Widow in your back pocket, remember to remove it before you sit down!

"remember to remove it before you sit down"
you mean if you sit on a Black Widow spider it will bite you with venom ?
I have often looked at the Fallkniven Gent's knife. I have a TK4 & FH9 so i know how solid yet smooth they are, but cannot justify getting a third Fallkniven folder. I also have the "Jarl" which is a very fine 8" fixed blade.
