E.Renaud Armes made from a single piece of horn.
J.Mongin with horn scales, a hollow spike,and a shackle key built into the side.

Unmarked.
Taylor's Eye Witness.

Cool, they came in two versions, one with bolsters & one without. They were both made by Camillus for Buck between 1972-1986 and were based on the Camillus #96 frame. Here are mine.

This knife collecting thing is worse than collecting baseball cards when it comes to makers and varieties...... I collected those (dirty word) little pieces of paper with players pictures on 'em until they started making cards out of metal at $15 per pack (of 3). Then there was always the card that has a piece of a game used jersey or bat attached to it, or the autographed version, or the gold version or, or, or....That was my signal to give it up.
BUT, I am NOT going to stop collecting knives. I guess I will just have to keep on keeping on..... ONWARD.... more knives are out there!

Hate to tell ya, knife collecting can be as detailed and nit picky as card collecting. For example I collect Buck 300 Series knives, and after getting one of each model I realized there were endless "versions" of each left to collect, I'll be at it for the rest of my life! Worse than that you will always know there is someone out there who has a better collection than you do, and that drives you to collect even harder, (or at least it does me).

Baykeeper. I got some cards in the closet (unopened boxes and cases) that I'd like to break even on.

Also have several knives that I enjoy even more. Got one Spike. Keep on buying, it is addictive.

Obviously neither do I, gives me something to do. I've gathered so many knives over the years my daughter insists I make a binder with photos and descriptions so when I check out she will know what she just inherited. It won't be all that much financially, but they will all have gained value in the meantime so it won't be peanuts either. Hopefully she and my grandson will learn to appreciate them like I did.

Heck of a large one, no? On this blade, at the point where the nail nick side and sharpened cutting side come together, it is sharpened, like what you would see on a wood carving tool, this is what made me think that maybe it was used to shave a cord or rope. I completely overlooked that it could just be a large can opener.
The second question about this knife, it's marked SPENCER 1977, but I was told it was made for WW II. So is 1977 a model # or the year it was made?
I cant find any info on it. Thanks for all the great help...As always. You guys are the best!

This thing has as much snap as anything I've encountered. Lots of my old Queen and Case have big time snap but this one has the weight behind it to do some damage if it were to close on an appendage.
Was it worth $20?

That's a good way to start with nautical knives, I have it's twin hanging across the room. Yes it is well worth a Jackson, (and more).

Yes, I think that is supposed to be a can opener. I never have tried to use it. I use a P-38 that hangs on my key ring as an emergency can opener.
Here is one I have with that can opener type of blade.

Thanks, Mike. And by the way, Clint is my favorite, hands down. I don't want to say, favorite actor, because I don't care for those Hollywood people at all, to me, he is much different. He proved that by recently publically denouncing the Hollywood group as molesters and pedophiles and was clearly angry about Hollywood's treatment of president Trump.

As a kid, I would try to copy that scowling face while chomping a little stick in the corner of my mouth like his famous cigars. And that famous line you have there about whistling Dixie ( the outlaw Josie Wales?) has got to be top 3 greatest lines ever said! He's a great guy, I would love to get a chance to meet him, and I bet he has some nice knives, also seems like he would appreciate this addiction we have

A pawn shop find, purchased because of its smaller, lighter aspect and the unique stamping. A Currey ltd, Chichester, Endland rigger’s knife. Identical to a Currey Lockspike Bosun’s Knife.
The “Property of CP Air” stamp piqued my curiosity. Google provided this link
