Handle Color

Post by Luckypaul777 »

I bought a Case, large coke bottle that has rogers bone handles. The front handles are no where near, as dark as the back. They appear to be faded out, does this make this knife less desirable, for a collection. Thanks.

Hi there, Just speaking from my personal experience I prefer the handles to match as closely as possible. A lot of stags don't. All things considered I believe that is the case with most all of my fellow collectors. I never rule out a knife though if it is a rare knife. Those get a little more leeway. ::tu::

welcome to the site! tom is right, rarety can make the difference. sometime knives are displayed for too long in sunlight which will cause fading. sometimes the handles are different from the start. would love to see pic of the knife.

Here is a NKCA knife done by Case. It was just this different from the start. Most folks would like closely matching handles, I'd agree. But reality is that they don't always match up when natural materials are used. ::shrug:: Especially on production knives made in large runs.

I bought this knife off of eBay; if I had known that the handles were different, I would have passed it buy. I have just gotten back into collecting again; I really like the large coke bottles. I have found fifteen in the last month or so.

This is not unusual. I have had quite a few Case knives that were totally different from one side to the next. Not that it makes them any less desireable depending on one's preference. Always beware of eBay sellers that do not show both sides of the knive for sale.

Check out this Case Moose I have. Now if that it not night and day?
