Swaybacl gent
A nice 2010 swayback gent with antique bone handles and Tony Bose signature on the blade. Came from a collection. I like the Tony Bose signature and I haven't seen that antique bone handle very often.

VERY nice score, Oldredbone67!
I think the SBJ is an underappreciated pattern in the Case lineup, and I dig that bone. With Case, the amber/antique bone doesn't always come out "right" but you've got it in spades!

The antique bone really gives a very rich look to the knife.

Oldredbones, that's a great pattern. Sway back, bare head, wharn and great bones. All it needs is a lanyard tube for the perfect knife. Congrats, beautiful knife.

Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups
Thanks fellas for the nice words. When I saw the knife for sale in the collection, the first thing that caught my eye was the rich color of the antique bone. Of course , I always liked the swayback design. So it wad a "no brainer" to get it. Wait till you see the bone on a baby doctors knife i picked up. Will post later today.

Case Baby Doc
Here is the baby doc knife I just picked up. Love the bone handles. I have always wanted a doctor's knife with the spatula blade. If you have a doctor's or baby doc, show me yours. Thanks

Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups
Here's a Case XX that has different colored covers and I don't know why. Don't know if it makes a difference. I don't care.
I'm glad to have this somewhat early knife. It's still solid and I don't have a Case Elephant toe this early. I think these are terrific knives.
They carry like a dream. It's 4 3/8", so it will give you something to hang on to. To cut a line or a gizzard.

Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups
Outstanding 6250, Joe, that's a remarkable pickup!
I have seen that kind of variation in the XX era's bone on a few different knives. I always liked getting a Case with two different "personalities" from the handle slabs, but I think I'm in the minority with that opinion.

Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups
Thank you, Tony. I'm not familiar with a lot of variation.
I'm glad to get an honest old Case knife.

Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups
Joe, beautiful XX 6250.
I have heard (but don't know if it's true) that Case intentionally made knives with one Green bone handle and on Red bone handle that were used as salesman samples so the salesman could show customers / dealers what each variation of the knife would look like. It sounds plausible AND goofy at the same time

Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups
Thank you, Ivoryman and jdub and Jerry.
jdub, I carried it today.
Jerry, I have heard the same thing about the different covers. Probably saved a little weight.

ORB67,
How is that one stamped? What pattern is it and Case's number code? The mark side looks like "2nd cut" and I can't decide what the pile side is supposed to be. Been lookin' at the W.R.Case College: Jigging Patterns.

Joe I have a XX 50 pattern that has covers like yours. I don't know about the salesman sample idea, probably it just happens.

Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups
ORB67,
I tried to blow up the picture that shows the pattern number, but still can't quite make them out, would you mind just posting the numbers, it looks like maybe 6.5????47 over SS. I'm thinking, could it ID both handles in that number, or am I barking up the wrong tree?
