Photography Light Box

I went to Google and got the instructions for a Light Box. (wikiHow) Came home from work and constructed it. Here are some photos of the first try. Not very impressive. I suspect I need more light, and a better Camera.
I wanted to ask questions about the little red Knife anyway: Tang Markings are "Henry Sears &Son 1865. Can any one tell me anything about it?

henry sears and son 1865 was the brand of farwell ozmun kirk, a hardware wholesaler c1878-1959. the original co. out of chicago c1865-1878.

Looking promising Dave. I worked on pic17 in paintshop pro. color, contrast, etc.. Software can help alot.

Just a tip. Get some of that gum like substance used to hang posters with. Break a small piece off and prop the blade up a little bit. It gives a better angle, reduces shadows and makes for interesting contrast. You can hide it under the blade easily. If you notice, the blade isn't as focused as the handle is. Use a little more light as well, change the angle of light until it pops. Tilting the base can also help with the pic and shadows. Hope this helps

Ideas for your lightbox. I built mine too--I use 4 clip on lights that I can move around. Works pretty well.

From your shot, I believe if you raise the F-Stop on your camera and adjust your shutter speed to the wide F-Stop, you will find your focus is MUCH better and more depth of field.

Also, every time you take a pic in the box, you should get some white paper and use it for a custom white balance setting.

Also if you haven't done it, you should try "daylight" bulbs--they are better than regular soft white--truer colors.
