Loooove all the beautiful old cell popping up in this thread, what a great idea!

Nice knives here. There are a lot of celluloid handles that I really like ... if only it were stable.

I know exactly how you feel. I do find myself having a little more confidence in 100+ year old cell knives that still show no sign of outgassing after a century of life, although I still store them in independent sleeves away from most of my other knives.

I noticed that most of my cell knives are insufficiently photographed, so I gathered what I could for this thread and I will use its existence as motivation to get photos (or better ones) of my other cell knives.

Dave, I agree with Cal. Your Utica is quite unusual. I want to call it a cattle jack for the blades but the pattern is so different. Lucky you! I feel !

Here are some celluloid toothpicks / fisherman's knives that are all in near mint condition. Top to bottom: Imperial, Colonial, Hammer, Hammer. They all came from the same seller at a knife show.

I've been hunting great condition celluloids recently so if you have any for sale give me a shout. All patterns but I particularly like Coke bottle hunters.

Thanks, Steve! I think technically it could be considered a harness jack due to the leather punch. Another AAPK member told me Utica called the pattern the "Syrain". A weird name for a weird knife.

Those are some beauties; thanks for posting them. That first German is the bee's knees! I wouldn't be too concerned about the old ones, with normal protocol for storing celluloid, but I would consider keeping the Germans WAY far away from everything else; they do have a reputation for 'you know what.'

I have lost my share of beauties over the years. Many do not play well with others and must be separated.
