Keenwell knife

Hello all, just wondering if there is anybody that might know when this knife was manufactured. I picked it up about a week ago for $3.00 at a rummage sale. Is that a good price? I've added a couple of pictures. It seems to be in pretty good shape although a bit dirty. I appreciate any info that can be provided.

Levine's shows a date of c. 1910 for the Keenwell brand. The knife looks essentially identical to knives marked with the Olcut marking. Levines shows this brand used from c 1911-1914.

Both were manufactured by the Union Cutlery Co., the same manufacturers who made the Kabar brand knives.

As far as value, $3 is a very good price if there isn't any damage that I can't see. I think the Olcut's sell for $30 +- on Ebay and I think this Keenwell would probably do a little better (because it's a little rarer), especially since the handles are a nice color. This assumes the blade is pretty full and has decent snap and there isn't any hidden damage.

Ebay is a real crap shoot, I bought a Camco knife one time for $10 dollars and saw one EXACTLY like it sell for $30 less than an hour later, so you can't ever really tell.

goins-c1930-1939, trademark used by union cutlery. $3.00? great price for any u.s. made knife.

Hey thanks for the great info. The knife is in I would say above average condition if it is that old. It still has a great snap to it and the blade has been sharpened but not a lot of wear. Thanks again!!
