Got this one in the mail Monday. D2 steel, Caramel Bone and only 30 of 'em made.

that is purty, been wantin one of those canal trappers for a while. maybe you could loan yours to me so i can make up my mind!

Hi Mumblypeg,

That's a nice knife, for sure ! Good steel, too.

Is it just my eyes, or are the blades polished, mark side and satin, pile side ? If it is polished, they did a darn good job, for D2 !

I have a Canal Street Cutlery trapper in D2 around here somewhere, not a rare one, but a darn nice knife. I like mine, even carry it now and then. A well made knife it is.

Yessir, JR, polished mark side and a brushed finish on the pile side. It is shiney, ain't it?

My apologies, gentlemen. The trapper has 440C steel.....this Canittler was in the same box, it has the D2 steel. Both are 1 of 30.

Excellent knives mumbly. The scales on that trapper are gorgeous. CSC is producing some fine knives.

Great lookin knives there mumblypeg! I was wondering if you could tell me how the snap is on your canittler? I have one CS and it's the canittler. I love the knife. Everything is great as far as I can tell but the snap seems soft to me. Its not overly bad but just not bear trap as I figured this pattern might have. Like I said I love the knife and could have gotten my money back but I like her. I hope this says something about how well I like the knife, meaning although I could have gotten back my money, I want to keep it because to me its a great little knife. OK enuff rambling, just wanted to know how yours was on the snap. Again congrats on those beauties, both are very nice!

The snap on the Cannitler is always fairly soft. I spoke with the factory about that before I did my SFO with them. Wally said that because the main blade uses both springs, they intentionally modify each one by hand to make it easier to open. they don't want nail breakers.

I was satisfied enough with his reasoning and the quality, I bought a bunch of them!

Howdy Brad, the snap is a little soft, but I agree with Derrick, you need to have it modified a little. The 2 secondaries have excellent snap though.
